I have the previous model CLA 45 AMG and it is a chasm when it comes to the sound of this car. Maybe the new model is better to drive, but it sounds like my grandmother's vacuum cleaner

Michal Drop to be honest your model doesn’t sound great either. It’s just the crackles that sound good. Add some pop and bang to this one and it’s way better than the previous model

UndefeatedChamp nah its not just the crackles that sound better. The car reving up also sounds better. But i would take the new one any day of the week. Its so much better in all other aspects besides sound. And sound can be fixed with an after market exhaust.

Those things sounds even better in real life! We get some of those to do the maintanance on them. Even the older models and A-Classes A45 AMG's dont really have that much problems as they werent much with bigger problemswe had to fix.. The CLA 45 S AMG is definitly one of my most favourite Mercedes Benz of the new generations

By all accounts this is a very large improvement over the first version. Would be very happy to have one. I always thought of the original as a great engine but otherwise pretty crude in terms of the interior etc; I especially disliked that screen that looked like an iPad had been stuck on at the last minute. It also didn't seem to work too well with its gearing in normal driving, based on reviews I've watched. [Being Australian, I love the stark difference between home and the Netherlands when I visit relatives there. It's so flat, green, and wet. I go through more, and larger, elevation changes driving from my home to the airport - only 11km - than I do the entire time I'm over there]

When the tuners made 500HP from 1.8 Turbo 20 years ago it was just ok but when mercedes make 420HP from new tech 2.0 its wow. I just hate 4 cylinder AMGs because it is just a true contrast of what was AMG known about in the past. At least they could stroke it to 2.3 😀

chris Loo Ja denkt man sich, aber schau dir den Vorgänger an, der hatte glaube ich am Anfang 367 PS und irgendwann als Facelift nochmals bisschen mehr glaube ich 381 PS. Und wenn du dich im Internet oder Foren oder sonst wo umschaust wird schnell klar das beim CLA 45 AMG (also das Vorgängermodell) vieles nach einer Weile Kaputt geht, Verschleiß etc. Aber wenn etwas keine Probleme bereitet ist es der Motor !!! Und ist ja auch krass ebenfalls 2 Liter, 4 Zylinder und um die 380 PS

Tim Berisha ich denke du solltest dich etwas weiter informieren bin selber kfz Mechatroniker sehe tag täglich wie die Motoren nach ca 100000 langsam den Geist aufgeben zudem schau doch einfach mal nach geh mal auf Wikipedia und schau dir risiken oder probleme bei downsizing Motoren an... Downsizing (Verkleinerung) das sagt doch schon das wort höhere Luftmasse auf kleinere Bauteile wie z.b. Der Motor usw

chris Loo mitsubishi hat vor 10-15 jahren 2l 400 ps motoren gebaut und nie Probleme gehabt. Diese Motoren sind heute noch Kult. Heutzutage bestehen die Motoren aus so hochwertigen Bauteilen, dass ihnen diese Power nichts ausmacht. Mercedes weiß schon was die da machen :)

citruk nibum Ja, ich habe den Motor einzeln auf der IAA 2019 in Frankfurt gesehen, dort war der ausgebaut und aufgestellt worden von Mercedes. Man sah das die Entwicklungskosten stark für den Motor gebraucht worden sind.
