This happened because he turned off his "Stability Control" I wouldn't recommend it. If you wanna do a power slide, Traction Control "OFF" will do but if your car has a Tiptronic transmission so your car doesn't switch gears during a slide.

@ZxSkyLineKisxZ Nice someone that gets it! Pre nanny days (where off meant off!) I wrote off an S4 doing this (HOLD TCS off button for three seconds rather than press it once) and stupidly launch controlled a start at a junction where I intended to turn right. Even with AWD the thing bit me in the ass, under steered like crazy into a wall. Lesson learnt, pride hurt. As an older gentleman, whilst still a boy racer at heart I’m not too arrogant to utilize the systems designed by the car manufacturers to assist in this sort of shit from not happening - whilst still having fun.

This why I drive a stick and I drive with dynamic traction control on switching off my automatic stabilizer. 80% of the time my car is in track mode, I believe doing this on a daily basis should be in every driver’s repertoire. It teaches you how to control your vehicle in any condition, at least IMO/experience.

@@dcappucino9513 Nah s2000s are sick And s2000s are actually really good starter cars for the track. Plus it can rev up to 9000rpms. Which was a world record for highest specific output for a naturally aspirated engine. It held the record for 10 YEARS, until the Ferrari 458 Pista broke it.

tried to slide with ESC on I guess? He was turning left and gave it some gas and the rear of the car kicks out to the right for a second before its corrected by the computer than ultimately overcorrected by the driver the rear kicks out to the left and he hits the curb

I don´t think esc would have allowed the rear to even step out like that. My theory is the car snapped back and the driver was still turning the wheel to the right countering the initial drift. Then he steered left but it was too late.

The driver thought he was about to have a nice drifting and started counter steering strong and flooring but the ESC stopped the power slide and there he goes. Super GTs are so sneaky, you have to completely know what you do.

Nope, looks to me just like with every mustang vid. He got on the power so it started to slide and he lifted quickly and the car snapped back the other way as the weight transfered forwards and the fronts hooked up and the rear got thrown the other way because of the countersteer.

Esc doesn't just cut power, that's traction control. Esc uses the abs to brake the inside wheels of the slide to pull the car out of it. He did not have Esc on, and probably had traction control either off or in a sporty setting so it allowed enough slip for him to get sideways.
