Looks great. That interior is fabulous. Coupes are the king of cars. Pity it's from three prong suppository. 25,000km oil life from a high output 2L seems a big ask. Would like to see the lab test on that sample. Great review as always.

bought this (e450 6 cylinder variant) end of the year 2024 brand new for "merely" 70k CAD (49k usd), a massive 35k discount from the dealer, which made it a real bargain. I personally prefer the "elder" gen e coupe to the new cle.

Another great review Technically this would be the 3rd generation in a coupe that is badged E class (Australian models in brackets C124 (E220/320) C207 (E200, 250, 250CDI, 350,400,500) C238 (220d,300,350e,400,450,53)

I think this looks better before the facelift. I'm also disappointed at the lack of available configurations. Those wheels, which I'm not a big fan of, is the only one available in Australia! Lack of an E450 is also an issue. Not all of us wants an AMG. Even if I could afford one, I wouldn't. To me, Mercedes-Benz stands for stately elegance, not brutish, raucous aggression.

There has been a marked decrease in customisability on many Benz models in recent years. Bit of a shame. And yes, the E450 would be ideal.

@@chasingcars That shows the downward trajectory in what is being offered, whilst pricing continues to escalate thru the roof. I agree entirely that E350 should only mean six cylinder petrol. In the previous gen, the E450 was the entry point for the six. I long for the days when Benzes were designed by engineers, not accountants and marketers. When buying a Benz was reserved for the few and they were the best, built like brick dunnies, with safety and longevity in mind. When they took pride in the integrity of their product. Now it’s all built with planned obsolescence in mind and most of the sub $100K cars they’re putting their name to, are usually no better than Mazda or Kia. People are taken in by ‘German quality’ when such cars are usually being built anywhere but Germany.

@@chasingcars maybe but when you option higher you can actually make this a real classy interior and a 2379 inch (Tesla like) tablet in the middle of your dash sucks all the class out of the car. The previous S-class was the perfect example off luxury and classy interior feel.

The massive logo in the grill is overdone and IMO, the DLO makes it appear claustrophobic. If opening was deep then it wouldn't look so squashed. Quality reliability not so good and anything that goes wrong, appears to the owners fault wit the way they drive instead of the poor manufacturing quality.

I really do like this channel and it's reviews, plus as you say the most independent. Such a shame that the trolls from another AU channel make their way here regurgitating the cherry picked opinion of someone who doesn't actually test drive the cars (with the exception of two and half brands).
