MERCEDES C300 W204 FUEL GUAGE NOT WORKING SOLVED

I have c240. 2006 but when you put the car one or if their is fuel their the gauge will go full from half to up, but when you move the gauge beging drop and when it gets to a line before half tank the car will off mean their is no fuel it . What can I do to make the fuel gauge work normal

I'm going to try this but I have a question- you said to start the car then undo the battery terminals and let it run for 10 mins then hook up battery then turn car off and undo battery let sit for 10 mins then the next step is where I get confused unless I'm just reading the transcript wrong but what would my next step be? Are you saying start the car when the car is running take the terminals off and leave it running for ten mins then put them back on and turn the car off and let it sit for ten mins then che k gauge When I take the terminals off when the car is running the car shuts down?

@MohammadAlyahya yes, but I had to change the fuel pump cover some contacts on it are not giving a stable signal because that cover tends to burn first if there is an electrical issue and its quite expensive. Did a bargain from 30- 22k last month. We discovered the problem by reading the car fuel signal from the 2 tank sensors while the car was moving right side tank sensor was not changing even with movement then further testing with ohms meter showed there was a voltage problem with that cover was the problem. I also changed the sockets both inside and outside tank sockets to avoid any problems with the burnt terminals.

Okay, replace the sensor but if that has been done with no improvement, then your rear Sam is the culprit
