I watched the “owner’s guide” to this car. It was amazing how many times the guy said something along the lines of “you just do this but then sometimes that doesn’t work so you do this instead and, if that doesn’t work you do this and this.” It takes a TEAM of people to remove the engine cover. Absolute insanity in the best possible way. The 14 year old me from the 90’s is giddy to watch this.

All three are so iconic in their own right. Driving them back to back must have been such a surreal experience, how could anybody choose. What I will say is that this is what AMG meant to me, as an 80’s child nothing fascinated more than seeing those three letters on the rear end of a Mercedes. It is a crying shame that the brand has been so diluted, to the extent that it means almost nothing anymore. Great work Carfection!

While some of AMG isn't great, they are still an incredibly special brand. The AMG F1 team is one of, if not the absolute, best Formula One teams of all time, and continue to make the absolute fastest racecar the world has ever seen, year after year. AMG's truly insane roadcars still exist, especially with the Black Series. I was lucky enough to drive an SLS Black Series on a track and it's just as ridiculous and over-the-top as I hoped it would be. They also have the Project One coming in the next few years, which is literally an F1 engine dropped into a roadcar. It's going to be utterly brilliant.

@grandicellichannel
@grandicellichannel 2 жыл бұрын
@@victormanin2074 well, that's Bernie Ecclestone repeating the kill of the World Sportcars Championship in the early 70s (that was WAAAY more popular since the 1950s compared to the Grand Prix for open-wheels cars and the following F1) with a well-planned business move that brought sponsors (money) and speculating onto the energetic crysis which demonized the endurance racing for it's enormous need for gasoline, with the result of destroying what was the Golden Era of Racing, when there was no sponsor, pure racing at it's finest, made of drivers which raced for hours and hours pushing both them and their machines at the phisical limits. And I hope all of you will remember the decline that started for the same reasons I just said, of what was the Greatest Race in the World, the 24 Hours of Le Mans - which, luckely, nowadays is gaining more and more fans, less or more interested in Endurance, and my personal hope, as a fanatic of the 24 Hours de La Sarthe, that this new Hypercars formula will in some way bring us back to the same level of interest that took place first in the late 90s with that GT1 formula. This is my opinion, I don't want to say that F1 is rubbish, but I can assure you all that it's loosing spectators and public, when at the other side, the WEC enthusiasts are growing in number as the time passes by. Let's hope for a bright future for Endurance and Le Mans. Have y'all a nice day dear Petrolheads! ;)

I definitely perfer these to the newer P1, 918 and LaFerrari. I remember reading about these in car magazines when they were new. I hope someone makes posters of these three. In high school I had a 959 on my wall. Catchpoole's commentary is informative and memorable. This is the last of the old school supercars. Great content as usual. This is why I subscribed. Please keep up the good work. Thank you.

This has been the most wonderful & interesting series of videos and cars that have ever featured on the channel, and Henry has once again eloquently described the nuances of each in turn. These are videos that I will rewatch numerous times

They only made one road car, and that is still owned by Nissan. But I really liked the design, still do. Magnificent machine.

Good shout. Did that thing not use the Ricardo V8 that was then adapted to go into all of the Modern day Mclarens? Maserati MC12 is probably the most modern day version of this too.

First and only premiere I’ve ever watched! Doubt I could fit in this, at 6’4 and 17 stone and entirely inflexible I might get in, but you’d have to chop it up to get me back out again 🤣

Given the value of the car, they may rather opt to chop you up to get you out 😂 But it'd probably be worth it.

sure better than"modern" road cars remember these arent old either, they have full race pedigree, this mean very much on the track, today what current supercar have it? technology in races is always decades ahead,they maybe miss some electronic gizmos but they are real racecars,..

I think this is the finest car video I’ve ever seen. More than a car video, the most vivid flashback to my adolescents. This trio were the hot dogs when I was a lad. To see them together and listen to Henry articulate my 1990’s pubescent feelings, which are as relevant to me now in my (very) late 30’s as they were then, is a special thing. Thankyou Henry and Carfection.
