Thank you, this has allowed me to use mt USB stick which has all my music on it, I have searched for a few days since getting my new car and this has explained it easily and enable me to activate the USB. Also liking the fact I can save CD's to the Hard drive :)

C300. Connecting a USB drive gives a "maximum number of tracks exceeded" or "no playable files" error even w/only 1 files on it. tried formatting the drive to fat, fat32, ntfs and tried 3 usb drives, made no diff. can't find anything in the manual or on Google either. all other cars I had did play from these drives without any issue. would appreciate any help/solution.

@@danvelgtr wow this was a while back :), I had issues w usb drives. (not exactly the subject in the vid but was hoping someone can help) After a few days I just took the car back to the dealership, they were cool and updated the sys for me at no charge. Can't remember what ver I had but all my usb drives worked fine after that and played all mp3s/mp4s w/o any issues.

My Benz is a few years old. The Harmon Kardon system with the hard drive was a £1.5k option 8 years ago. I still have zero idea how to get files from my USB and onto the car drive. Drives me nuts as they will play just fine. I'm clearly an idiot.

You can't get them onto the hard drive on this either. The only way I can do it is to get a huge USB card upload all my music to it, and leave it in the slot. I think MB are worried that if they let people transfer their digital files to the hard drive they'll be involve in copyright theft etc. accusations

Thanks for the tip to importing CD's. Only problem is, the tracks were listed in alphabetical order instead of the original track order of the CD.

I'd not noticed that. Quick check seems there's no option to sort. I'm thinking it does that as when you search on iphone music it uses alphabetic search as well. Odd one for sure

It's killing me. Songs are sorted on albums in a very calculated way. The order has a lot to do with emotions and story telling. To all of a sudden hear track 9 first, then track 3, followed by track 6 is just wrong!! LOL Especially old CD's I've listened to for years, decades even.

TheLanard Sorry to hear that, I wonder if you went in to MB and saw a specialist they'd be able to help. My car is going in next week and if I can find someone I'll ask about ti. I had to by four new tires this week.....

Same thing. I wonder if there are some country specific copy right laws that prevent you from copying CDs to a different media, hence this option is not available in all regions.

I have a 2018 Ngoc, cannot download cd, Mercedes tell me they are encrypted, I've tried ones from the 70, encryption wasn't about then, HELP thanks.
