Thats the sad thing about german Autobahn: You know, that you COULD drive as fast as you can but there will always be somebody who wont give up the fast lane at speed of 160 km/h or something... I always let faster cars through.

daan29100 Actually the many people who are speeding like this are not germans they come often from across the border! Most germans drive the recommended 130kmh or a little more. Why? As you can see it is not easy and stressing to drive at high speed all the time. You have to keep your mind und reaction clear in seconds! And one other thing, beeing allowed to drive high speed does not mean you have a free ticket to do only what you want! That is what many people often forget. You are responsible for others on the Autobahn too!!

For any newcomers (3 years lol), cars are typically smaller and have weaker engines in Europe, on top of often having manual transmission. That's not a combo you want to be speeding with. Some of them accelerate very slowly, and you do _not_ want to go from the 100-110 kph (60-65 mph) line to the 150-160 kph (95-100 mph) line with that.

lapamful You're not allowed to pass on the right in Germany (except on the acceleration lane). That's one of the fundamental concepts of the Autobahn. You're required to use the most rightern lane if it's free etc. ("Rechtsfahrgebot").

Lichthupe kann sehr schnell als Nötigung im Strassenverkehr empfunden werden. Ausserdem gab es da diese "Turbo Rolf" Geschichte bei der ein Mercedes Werkstestfahrer mit seinem CL600 mit solchem Fahrverhalten eine Frau die mit ihrem Kind unterwegs war so erschreckt hat das diese aus Angst des Lenkrad zu sehr verissen hat und einen Unfall verursachte bei dem beiden starben. War es das im Endeffekt wert, wird sich der Turbo Rolf" später gedacht haben? Ich jededenfalls, möchte nicht in sowas verwickelt werden.

BerlinTomek Interessant! Ich denke beim Fahren auch sehr oft an diese Geschichte. Und lass es solche Geschehnisse oder das Alter sein, man ärgert sich zwar über Typen wie den Audi, aber Lichthupe und extrem dichtes Auffahren, das sind die möglichen Folgen und den Ärger/Stress nicht wert.
