This is a detailed video showing how to diagnose a battery drain problem using a clamp meter and blade fuse current tester. The video goes on to show in detail how to remove a tracker unit from a Mercedes R230 SL55 AMG.
NB It transpires that the LAP clamp meter shown at the end of this meter does NOT read DC current so don't buy it for automotive testing. We subsequent have done a detailed video about clamp meters and the unit to buy is the Fluke 325 which has a resolution down to 10mA. Cheaper clamp meters are less accurate and only have a resolution of 100mA.
Also....be careful not to store the blade fuse tester in such a way that the "on" button could be inadvertently pressed as it is relatively expensive to replace the battery!
