I've rented out the Titan van built for ten days in the beginning of June. My husband and I loved it very much. It was durable, functional, and simple. Especially the bed was unbelievably comfortable. Also, the heating system worked so well and we felt comfortable in snowy Rocky Mountain National Park. There was a snow in there in June 8th and it was warm in the van.

Excellent 4x4 capable, open-space floor plan. Not a cramped DIY home-made look. Exterior design is a stealth incognito look that won't attract a lot of attention when urban boon docking. Could use a pedestal mount table in front of the couch like the Airstream Interstate has that I own. And roof mount A/C option is a must for most of us. If you do not need a shower/toilet, this could be a winner. Innovative craftsmanship.

Certainly could add one. This obviously was a custom build with a client specifies layout. We typically like to keep overhead cabinets all on one side of the van to still allow for ample head room and keep the space feeling large. If you put overhead cabinets on both sides of a van we have found it can feel claustrophobic.

The suspension would have been updated to compensate for the additional weight of the build and the aftermarket wheels would give you a few more inches over the stock wheels and tires. We utilize Victron components and Li-ion batteries in all of our builds. The closest model to this particular van build is our Classic 170 which starts at $49,995 for the conversion.

@TitanVans4 жыл бұрын
Van was designed for a Ski guide who generally travels solo but wanted the ability to have people crash if needed. The lower bed platform was intended to be used with camping pads so they could be deflated and stored without taking up much space. More storage is easy to add but can definitely make vans feel claustrophobic, hard balance to strike, and each customer is as unique as the vans!

The freshwater tank is inside the van (not underneath), has a heating pad, and yet you state that it will freeze in cold weather? That seems odd, unless you are referring to times when the van is parked and not lived in for days.
@TitanVans3 жыл бұрын
Certainly in that scenario but also when the temperature really drops. The heating pad helps but temperatures here every year will hit double digit negatives and the heater pad is not enough to keep up. Even with insulation in all walls and ceiling, the outside temperature will eventually become the inside temperature. Using the heater continously can also help but when temps get really low even that will have trouble keeping up.

For the devices that are powered off of the 12 VDC system (or really the inverter since that gets power from the batteries, too), do you have separate 12V batteries from the main engine-start battery? Or do you just have a very large Amp-Hour capacity battery that starts the engine and powers all the 12V devices (and the inverter)? If it's the latter, is there a cutoff or warning system then lets you know to stop pulling amps from the battery so that you can ensure you still have enough stored energy to start the engine? Does it have auto-engine-start capabilities? Also, what's the typical battery life like for an overnight situation? As in, running the heater or AC overnight while sleeping and charging phones...can the batteries last for 8 hours until you wake up and fire up the engine again?
@TitanVans3 жыл бұрын
Two separate systems. When the engine is running it will automatically connect and charge the rear batteries. There is an auto cut off and alarm system for the rear batteries as well. We design anywhere between a 200Ah and 1000Ah battery bank systems and to calculate run time for a system you multiply the items current draw by the amount of hrs you will run it for.
@smallg3273 жыл бұрын
Thank you. You kindly explain that with shorepower the inverter auto charges the L-ion batteries. Sprinter motor will also auto charge the L-ion batteries, correct? Is the standard alternator used for this Build or is the MB upgraged alternator or second alternator added?

Feedback: 1. Please buy a Gimbal to film these with. They’re only $100, but it would improve the shakiness considerably. 2. Please don’t film these outside. The glare is terrible and the dust all over the floors is a clear turn off (based on others’ comments). Film them in a large garage with the door open to avoid echo, and lessen the need for a mic. 3. It seems contradictory to state a Sprinter sleeps four when there (truly) are only two safe seats for travel. Is there something I’m missing regarding the seating situation? Because that board with seatbelts is wholly unsafe for travel. Beautiful van, but marketability matters. So just put a little more energy into marketing and video production when creating such a gorgeous van, and I’m sure it will pay off.
