I just dont understand why it costs nearly two grand when there are others from germany for a few hundred bucks and DTE is $75. is it really that much better?

Haven't used them. What I do know is renntech is the standard in the USA for Mercedes tuning and has been for a very, very long time and it works well

Real nice tune. Is this individually tuned for each Sprinter or a generic tune that you just send over? What is the turn around time to receive tuner after ordering?

Dima it's a generic tune since they are all the same and the ECU does it's own adapting and learning to it also. Turnaround is 24 hours. Not much more you can do with the tune. Turbo doesn't have more to give!

@@tommystravels eh. Its super dependant on load, driving style, elevation etc. Its such a small change anything can influence it. i wouldn't ever look at any modification as a payable by driving.

obviously, I'm biased since I sell it. So yes. But I will quantify that. I am now able to constantly cruise at 70-75mph (where legal of course) and have the ability to accelerate to avoid issues. In addition, the merging ability is increased because of better acceleration and overall the ability to maintain speeds on inclines now is vastly improved. So yes. To me, it is worth it. I would buy it even if i wasn't a dealer.

Al Santos I answered on the revel group. But this is an actual tune with changes. The pedal box and others merely trick the tpms to applying more throttle faster. No actual power gains

There are mercedes dealers that sell RENNtech products. You would have to check with your dealer. You have the option to have the factory or upgraded tune installed at any time

A word of caution: I purchased the Tune from Owl Vans and it made my Sprinter's acceleration MUCH worse! It was as though the turbo kicked much later; so, no off the acceleration. Worse, the van would get stuck on the slightest incline, unable to get going. The tune also negatively impacted hill decent via downshifting, causing the Sprinter to rev, then not rev sporadically (forcing me to ride the brakes). Both issues have gone away since I uninstalled the tune. Owl WILL NOT ACCEPT RETURNS ON THIS ITEM. They directed me to RennTech, who haven't been all that responsive, IMHO. I'll update this comment as I learn more, but wanted to share w/ others if they are considering this tune

It is unfortunate that you had this issue. What year is your van? Dyno sheets show the data for increases so it absolutely makes a difference in the positive side.

@@FreedomVanGo 2019 Sprinter 3500 XD 4-wheel drive. I also tried this at 5400' in Boulder, CO. I tried reaching out to RENN directly and they weren't very responsive. FYI, I was finally able to return the RENNTune to Owl; I got to a person who was easier to work with.

I bought a tuning for my Sprinter but it didn't work. I tried to contact them and let them know, they tried to find excuses of different things for me to try. I did all of it but still did not work. I wanted to send it back but they refuse to take it back. I spent $1,500 for an item that doesn't work. Do not buy from them!

Word to the wise: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS SHAM. Hardly ANYTHING changes with your day-to-day driving and I don't know exactly what it did to the transmission but the shifts are SUPER hard now. Your money is better spent going w/ someone who's been doing this for YEARS on Sprinters (i.e. Malone/Tunezilla)--which is cheaper, anyway.
