@@FarseerAnimation If I had a suggestion to make. Is if you plan on having sort of "main characters" in a movie like that and not just make it a plain old war movie. Try to make them a bit more distinct because as of right now they all look the same. So I guess it would make the story/action hard to follow. Perhaps with distinctive markings on the mech like personnal logos. Or if you want to do it the more "seemless" way, damages from a previous battle like laser burn marks or something. I don't think they would polish mechs after every battle so I dont think that would be an issue lore-wise.

@@thermallance7947 I agree and there actually is one Mech that follows through with that in this video, though I never drew attention to it. The Hellbringer is the same from the Zero-G and the Outpost Assault videos with the panels and limbs that were damaged being recolored. You're right that I do need to be a bit more distinct. I have a bad habit of assuming no one would want to lend me their voices and just making a bunch of generic armies clash. Luckily it seems that has changed! I'll just have to keep up on my end now really. Thanks for the feedback!

@@farseergaming6440 Didn't watch those other two videos. Will probably do now that I have discovered that channel. Who knows? Perhaps they are more distinctive than I believe them to be. But, nothing of the soft caught my eye. But, it's only a very minor thing. My nostalgia meter went through the roof with this given that MW2's intro was my first big gaming "wow" when I was a kid. Still am a fan of those games ever since. Never been into the tabletops but the game themselves are right up my alley.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed this! I used Lightwave for the models and animation, compositing was Adobe After Effects, and general editing was Premiere. I'm currently trying to put together another one, so if you are interested in helping me out I'd really appreciate it!

sure! i'm kinda rusty ended up majoring in something else but I probably still have my student license with Maya yeah I prefer modeling but I can rig, key frame, edit, texture, etc. ugh don'yt really want my personal details out there but yeah if theres a way to p.m. (never actually have on youtube lol)

1:47 "We're running low on ammunition for the weapons!" ... As opposed to ammunition for...? Ok, that aside, it looks ok, though I'm surprised I just saw this today, 2 years after the fact. Something about the way the mechs moved made them look like their hips were stationary in the air while their legs pumped up and down. I don't know if it was the camera work, or a lack of shudder in the movement animation, or what. But it made the movements look fake in a way that even old 8-bit animation didn't.

Nah this looked better than the MW2 animations, but not as good as MW4 animations. Somehow they did an amazing job with the MW4 animations which hasn't been replicated in any later game. Seriously I encourage you to take another look at the walking animations in that game because they're amazing. All of the joints in every leg for every separate chassis type are articulated and move appropriately depending on the angle of the surface and the change in the movements as you go faster looks very natural.

Could barely understand a few words of the dialogue. And I'm not really that fond of brown, lol. Loved the MW2 laser sound effects though. They were always my favourite. It made firefights look like a scene from Star Wars.

i got a question: Wouldnt it be easier to just use MWO or MW5 Game Engine and just use the Mechmodels there to shoot a video !? Then u dont have to animate everything and the Modeldetails would be way better

One thing that's on my mind, how TF are they running low on ammo for energy weapons. They don't even use ammo! They just need to recharge which takes like a bit of time.

Typically dropships have ballistic and missile batteries as well as lasers. It just happened to be that you only get to see the lasers here.

@@FarseerAnimation Yeah they usually have like a PPC, Gauss Rifle, or other heavy weapon firepower to fend off any unknown Mech pilot. Like in Mech 4 Vengeance, in that one mission where you have to take out an enemy dropship and you had to be careful when it powered up cause those weapons will tear through your Mech like a piece of paper.
