You can sail as long as you are medically fit...if you're 70 and still fit clearing medicals properly before joining ship...then you are good to go

You can go for gp rating engine side, but cannot join as an engineer....if you want to join deck side in officer then...then you will have to complete 1 year dns course from dg approved shipping college
