Lovely tribute! He was a great actor, with kind and beautiful eyes which are not without reason called windows to the soul. Thank you!

**wipes tears from her eyes** Thank you for this wonderful and moving tribute to a fantastic actor who is sadly missed. One of my fondest childhood memories is sitting on my grandpa's lap and watching "Upstairs, Downstairs."

Well this brought a few memories flooding back...... and also a lump to my throat! What a superb actor Gordon was to have performed so memorably across so many genres and decades. This is an awesome salute to the man which will touch the hearts of all his fans.

This is a beautiful and fitting tribute to an extremely talented actor who formed the backbone of so many of our wonderful films and T.V. series over many years. Sadly missed, but his legacy shall live on through his magnificent acting career - and also in the hearts of his viewing public; people like your good self, and all who watch, enjoy, and remember. You have found some wonderful images here, sweetie and the music is a perfect choice. Thank you so much. Angel ~ Layla xx

What can I say? You have said it all with pictures and music, fitting them so beautifully together. Watching this lovely vid has made me again feel keenly the loss of this great personality and actor, but that's ok for you don't miss whom you don't hold in high regard. Thanks so much for sharing this!

I have to second greenheart--a fantastic tribute, very well chosen music and I do love the pictures. I absolutely adored him in Upstairs, Downstairs, btw (only watched the reruns since I'm too young) . Such a VERSATILE actor, our good Mr. Jackson.

@Rod49B Hi Rod and thanks for stopping by! I had a feeling you might like this as I knew you have a soft spot for Mr Cowley and appreciate great actors - to which Gordon Jackson definitely belonged, although he always was very modest of his own talent and abilities. And I can't help thinking that he should have got even more recognition already during his lifetime... but thanks to modern technology, we still can see him and still get moved by his skill, charm and personality. Hugs!

@Roven75 Hi Roven, thank you for the compliment regarding this little bit although there was so little I did really - the pics and the music are enough. And yes his eyes... so very beautiful indeed, gaze simply is drawn to them. :-) The only bad thing about making this vid was that going through his filmography, my list of "must see" grew A LOT. Thank you very much for taking the time to watch and comment!

@DaybreakAngel Angel, I can only agree with what you said about Mr Jackson and his legacy. He was a most talented actor who seemingly never himself gave his talent the due credit. I'm most happy that you agreed on the images - as they were pretty much the only usable ones I found! I was astonished how few pictures there were. I'm also happy you agreed on the music - we must be grateful for all the good moments this dear man has given us. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment, hugs!

@turmlicht "you don't miss whom you don't hold in high regard". Well, dear friend, you said it perfectly. This was the first ever vid which got me into tears when making. Each of these pics could have been titled "so schön", and that doesn't really have that much with the (lovely) looks to do, but with the personality which radiates through. So, with this song and these pictures, I really didn't need to do so much... just introduce them to each other and savour.

@angelfish45 Oh dear friend, didn't mean to cause tears to others... thought mine were already more than enough. Still I'm very happy that this little bit seems to have some ability or power to move. And I'm more than happy that it brought you this fond memory from your childhood :-) Big big hugs!

@franciskerst I wish I had found photos of many more of his roles, but sadly no, not even of "A Town Like Alice" which I loved when I saw it years ago. Maybe one day I manage to gather a collection of his films and get the chance to make screencaps... But he's so beautiful in these pictures, isn't he? And that beauty in part comes from his personality which you aptly described. Thank you for the compliment and for taking the time to watch! :-)

@greenheart45 Thank you for your lovely compliment, dear Greenheart! I'm more than happy that you liked this bit. I have wanted to do something like this for Mr Jackson already for a long time. And after I had placed the pics in time-order, and ran them the first time with music, I just couldn't help staring and thinking "My God what a beautiful, gorgeous man he has been". 'So schön', as Laila sings. Hugs!

@Yorkmum Hello and thank you for your compliment! It certainly starts to look like this gentleman has managed to touch and move people very deeply - also others than me. And such a modest soul as he was... I think he would be very embarassed if he knew how we feel about him :-) Merci Chérie has been one of my favourite songs since my childhood, and as Mr Jackson was fluent in German I thought the song very fitting, he has given us so many memorable moments to be grateful for.

@PeppyPower Hello mate! I'm glad you liked this :-) The music chose itself, I wasn't looking for a song but as you know, when I heard this I knew I wanted to make a vid. Searching for usable pics was extremely frustrating though and there was none to be found on too many of his films. But even in the ones I did find he truly was a joy to behold... Anyway this was a sad video to make.

@arleneherring Oh my goodness, I didn't mean to make people cry... although, I am happy that there are others who share the emotion and sentiment which caused me to make and to upload this video. Mr Jackson truly is missed and loved, and worth every tribute as and actor and as a person. Thank you very much indeed for taking the time to watch and comment, and for your compliment.

@finnhere2 I wonder what Mr. Jackson would have said to all these emotions? He was such a modest man. And Mr. Cowley? There I have an inkling... But as we feel what we feel anyway, I don't mind him bellowing :-))
@finnhere214 жыл бұрын
@turmlicht Oh he would probably have been terribly embarassed... *smile* but we simply think and feel about him as he himself thought and felt about (other) great actors. So maybe he could have forgiven us eventually... Ah, Mr Cowley, we would certainly hear about our sillyness (to put it mildly), and that loud and clear, but maybe, once in the peace of his own room or apartment, he just might pour himself a wee dram with a little smile on his face. :-)
