Great Sage Parashara who is father of astrology can certainly for-see the incarnation of Lord Buddha hence he had related Mercury to him.. Buddha is state of mind. Among Mahayana each age has 9 Buddhas and in Therawada 28 Buddhas already passed and 29th has to come. Nath Yogis have their own 200 Buddhas. Shakya Muni Buddha was one of Many Buddha.
