Thanks for the video, very helpful. As a preventive measure - mine were fine and still intact with no perforations - I just changed my tracker diaphragms on both of the starboard side rails of my two 2005 225 Optimax DTS engines. Did not need to use the tool as it is a much weaker spring than the port side air/fuel diaphragms and could steady the cover with hand force alone. Still pending is changing out the A/ F diaphragms on the starboard side rails - and for those will definitely use the assembly tool which I already have.

@@206_FISHING my motor was just dying when I start it up and trying to warm it up. If I stop and idle it’ll idle badly or just dies. Also was getting the beeps.

The 2.5 liters don't have the 80lb spring the 3.0 do. The tool is not nessesary for the weaker spring if you have steady hands
@CptAJbannedАй бұрын
2.5 liters DO have an 80lb spring in the air pressure regulator (just checked the manual). Both the fuel regulator and the tracker have 10lbs springs on all models it seems so the tricky one is always going to be the air pressure regulator Check your manual if you've only seen this video though, on the 3liters the position of the fuel and air regulators is inverted from the one shown here. The fuel regulator is the bottom one on the port side!

DO NOT USE GREASE ON THE DIAPHRAGM some types of grease don’t dissolve in the fuel and will plug your injectors
@raisingcane2255 ай бұрын
Quicksilver/Mercury 2-4-C grease with PTFE absolutely is soluble (WILL dissolve) in gasoline. I literally put a +/- 1/4 oz glob of it in a glass and added about 3 ounces of gas, stirred it with my finger and it dissolved. You may be correct about other types of grease, but this one is safe for the use mentioned.
