One of the reasons I respect as well as resonate with you Adam, the content of your astrology channel as well as your way of teaching in your class is that you are so passionately equanimous about how and what to think. I also totally agree 100% on the nature Puritanism. I was a vegan/vegetarian that went carnivore last year due to health issues and it’s (philosophically) completely turned my worldview into balance. I’ve spent the last five or six years living in the most out there rural towns, six months ago moved back to the city and feel so happy and alivened to be here. It’s less than “pure”, pollution and traffick all over the place- Even though I see a lot of the worst parts of humanity where I live, it’s really raw and real and humbling and keeps me in a state of cohesive orientation, and I absolutely love it. I see everything in duality where when you have the humanities worst also lies humanities best. I’ve found it more difficult to remain neutral and comfortable in the last few years, feels like hell

It’s a hit. Different ways of looking at these transits has been immensely helpful. I loved the comparison of Eden. Sometimes the thoughts or ideas of “if we could only get back there” we would be happy, perfect, or somehow better or “natural”. Very insightful. Thank you.

Revelatory! Supernatural. Super, duper natural. I hope that everyone listens very closely to this! I think the main thing we have wrong about purity is that it is something "clean" or "perfect". It makes sense, especially as we are learning of the superstructure of the universe through sacred geometry, synchronicity & such...perfection is real!! But it brings a paradox for US: the closer we get to "clean & perfect", the more inauthentic & inorganic we get! What clears this up for me: Dirt is clean and death is perfected state (fully realized being).

I think if we look at various cultures we can see an immense diversity in innovations that cultures have come up with to solve problems (food, housing, clothing etc). These innovations are a variation of “natural”. A solution that is “artificial” seems to come with a long term “price” to pay to humans, animals, earth, water (ie the natural biological world).

The topic of natural vs. unnatural is so complex and nuanced, but there is such a big tendency to broadly generalize whenever talking about nature. Your point about the perspective of a person being relative to their usual surroundings (humans definitely have habitats, too!) is such a good one. Our personal frame of reference shapes our concepts of nature and what is natural, and we share them with those with similar understanding and backgrounds. But the concept of nature to someone living in the harsh wilderness with no modern ammenities to resort to is different than a city dweller who is indoors much of their lives. Taking it on another scale, civilization has changed so much over time, as has Earth itself. Our lifestyles are much more sedentary than before, and there is an abundance of resources available to more people than ever. There are pros and cons to this; everything has a cost. But as a person who would have been dead at 24 if not for the invention of antibiotics, I’m glad to live in a more innovative age. Many people are afraid of technology, artificial food, and other modern changes, but they don’t even realize that so much of their life is a modern advancement from another time they wouldn’t dream of going without. The tug of war between Aquarius and Taurus is incredibly rich with symbolic meaning. The call for innovation vs. the need to stay in touch with nature in its many forms is so inherent to life for mankind. How can we show both their due reverence? It’s a challenge for this generation for sure. We need to carefully examine our understanding of both with all the thoroughness, deference, and respect they deserve.

Had two particularly fun #grabbed moments with Pluto and Mercury (I suspect Mars Cancer in my 9th too haha). Over the weekend I became absolutely enthralled with a "Discovering Ancient Rome" television show and could not stop watching it. It was so fascinating to see what the archeologists were discovering, the stories about the locations, people, and so on. It really tickled that happy spot in my brain that loves history, archeology, detective work, and so on. Today, I spoke to one of my bosses about a particular client that I no longer wish to work with due to extremely toxic behavior from their spouse. Who happens to be a Taurus and that is where Mercury currently is for me.

There's something so synchronous about this coming out when it is so related to my courses and also my assignments I have to wrap up this week. The natural resources class was different than I expected it to be when I signed up for it (in a good way) where we're really digging into the philosophies of how we define nature. It has been fascinating, and numinous, and sometimes confusing. Like, it's not something we're going to have a definite answer on within this class, despite it being intensive course talking about it. I also have to present about logging and clear cutting in the Amazon adding to the synchronicity. And I'm writing a mock case about the ethics around killing invasive species which is such a rich topic that embodies this "what is natural anyway?" Question. Idk if we can share links here (Adam, if you see this and don't want the link posted feel free to remove it, it is in the replies below) but there is a really really fascinating ted talk we watched and discussed in class last week about robbing ourselves of nature by limiting it's definition. I'll put it in the reply to this comment if anyone's interested but she touched on a lot of the points here in this video

Thank you for this episode, Adam! A lot of these ideas have been in my mind for years now and it was refreshing to hear your take on them. I have a whole sign mercury/pluto square in my natal chart (moon/mercury in Virgo, mars/pluto in Sag). I constantly try to compartmentalize things in my head and have an unhelpful all-or-nothing attitude, paired with unreasonably high expectations. But life is fluid and unpredictable, and trying to control it has only lead to disappointment and dissatisfaction. When I first went vegan 5 years ago, I had this belief that it was the "right" or "natural" way of being, especially as a "spiritual" person, and I changed my diet over night. It wasn't until recently that I began doubting my own extreme beliefs, and decided to listen to my body instead which seemed to be craving (and even dreaming about) eggs and fish. Needless to say, having fish for the first time (last month) was a spiritual experience in and of itself. But in a way, I am glad to have went vegan because it did teach me to be more mindful about what I put in my body/how it's sourced, etc. Moderation and simplicity are key to a happy existence. The more we try to control and force our way, the more resistance we'll be met with.

My main issue with chatgpt and other AI programmes is that they have been developed by companies with bad ethical backgrounds and are driven by profit. It will be interesting to see if the body of data that chatgpt has access to ultimately supersedes the influence of it's creators. Fascinating and dangerous, like many things we as humans create. The mention you made that "most religions believe that when you fill your life with meaningless material possessions, you lose track of the natural wealth of the heart" struck a cord in me! Saturn is opposing my natal Venus and square my natal Pluto this year, and I have been very focused on the idea of "generational health" - how the health of our parents and their life styles influence our health and how our health and lifestyle impacts our kids, and so on. I have been feeling a major call to address areas of health (physical, emotional, spiritual/body, mind, spirit) that need mending and support, and have been on a subtle mission of changing my environment and my relationships to reflect that, which this mercury square is absolutely helping me communicate this boldly with all sorts of people 😂 Pluto is definitely sparking the call for focus on long term growth and impact over here and I love it!!

ChatGPT attributed that book to you because it's not programmed for accuracy. It's programmed to imitate human speech. It's basically a very advanced autocorrect. It's very good with creative things, but not so good with facts. Ask it to write a poem about Mercury Squaring Pluto, and it will amaze you. Ask it for dates and times when these things happen, and it will be stumped. Most of the controversy around ChatGPT stems from people thinking it's some all-knowing skynet type intelligence that's going to replace and then eliminate humans. It's definitely not.

Good job navigating challenging debate material! Personally I can see everything as being "natural" or emanating from nature. If we are an expression of nature itself then anything we create would be considered natural. On the other hand I can also see how everything could be considered "artificial". Even consciousness itself could be an artificial construct emulating the qualities of a pure source. So all in all I'm not sure it really matters so much as it can be more of a distinction of using definitions rather than trying to describe an actual state of being

LOL! 🤣 I saw this transit play out in real time today in a controversial topic around women ... someone just asked in a group chat what exactly does it means ... and how do you determine if you are a "woman" and who can join the women's groups? Most were so respectful about who you identify as and if it feels like it is where you belong as their answer ... so today there was one who replied to this random question and totally "lost it", called everyone sheep, and brought in their very distinct dismay & gender beliefs! That was a very interesting example of how this transit manifests as a collective! 🤩I personally have a trans nephew who is now my niece and LOVE her new identity as I can tell in her Energy and how much brighter her light shines now that she is expressing herself in a way that is much more "natural" for her! 😍

What is natural is a difficult question. I kind of equate it to how some people want to go back to the stone age in some belief that it would be utopia. Who says that humans aren't doing exactly what Divinity made us to do...and wouldn't that be natural? I guess it's faith and believing that things unfold in the intended way accordinf to a Divine Plan and we really can't resist because that plan was "written in the sky" with Astrology. We can learn to control how react to the energy and the intended process set out by Divinity but nothing truly random happens.

Artificial is simply, something made by man or machine, whereas Natural is something provided by Nature. For example, you can have a packaged food versus a fresh fruit or vegetable, or a natural storm versus a contrived by- man-storm. It comes down to a matter of personal choice, as in, Do I want to go out for a walk in nature now, Or stay in to watch tv or go to the cinema this afternoon? It's that simple!

People worry about what's natural and unnatural. But everything within the cosmos is the cosmos. A monkey using a stick to so it can eat bugs is a tool, but that's natural. And likewise our tools are complex, but it's natural. Nature is bizarre and to think that we have separated ourselves from it just because we have phones and cars is deluded. Really the question should be what's moral and immoral. Or even further what's empathetic. Or perhaps even to als is this world we manifest together really the our collective will... Spoiler it really isn't. Also I like Cokes and water and beer. Mmmm beer.

natural is simple without all the extra fluff. I think of the trine of Earth energies here without all the extra Air Trine energies. Air is great for changing ideas, but gotta ground it into something simple, or else you'll be an air head / spiritual bypasser / natural bypasser. It's like eating a 'beyond meat', you want to achieve similar effect of meat without meat, natural would just eat the meat, unnatural is adding all this fluff/ingredients to achieve something similar to meat. We do this with ideas as well, with take all these spiritual goo and try to make it work.. when the answer is real simple.. There is God, the Masculine, and the Feminine.
