When my brother was dying of lung and bone cancer, this song was almost like an anthem for me. I was initially VERY afraid to help care for my dying younger brother, John. But, in prayer, I kept feeling like I was being asked to do what I feared most, which was to walk in the “Valley of Death” with him. I said yes to God’s Will and he replaced my fear with a joy I had never even thought possible!! I honestly never experienced joy like that ever in my life!! This song was what kept me saying, “Yes!”

Sometimes He doesn't heal when we want Him to, but He always heals His children. He brings them home and heals them of all sickness and all pain. Thank you for this. I will remember this always. Got into a church and it turned out I heard that I was not wanted there in the first place because of my past and it was a church that said come as you are we love you. SO I left but that WILL NOT stop me from believing. I have back slid a bit, but like a song says, even if my daylight never comes and even if my breakthrough never comes I will always praise my LORD and savior. This song, along with Though you slay me by Shane and Shane has meant so much to me. My husband has had Parkinson's disease since 1995. It has been tremendously difficult to stay strong in the Lord. But after watching my husband slowly waste away, I am convinced now that suffering is truly a blessing. Suffering helps us identify and understand what Jesus willingly did for us. When we suffer, the ultimate outcome is unceasing joy and thankfulness. It is a privilege to suffer for Christ.

Thev1st time I heard this song... I had been going thru a deeply hurtful family situation... and... OF course Ibwas AT WORK. We were allowed to wear earbuds and listen to music. 2024 has been a hard year fkr me. Almost lost my sister in January to a random illness, was hospitalized unexpectedly and almost had a stroke at only 31 less than a month ago. And yesrerday another cousin died by suicide less than 6 months after i lost another one by it. This song is a blessing. Its reminding me that God will get me through thr storms and that its okay to grieve and struggle w faith from time to time.
