Lexie was the most precious bean and also a badass. Everyone loved and liked her, not just Meredith. Derek looked out for her, Cristina and Alex teased her, Bailey and Webber treated her like an additional daughter. Not to mention Mark, who never stopped loving her. She was the light to Meredith’s dark. Cristina understood her, but Lexie taught her selflessness and how to learn to love. I miss Lexie and Mark, they were adorable, funny, lovable characters

Lexie literally changed Meredith, she was the change Meredith was waiting for, she let Mer believe she’s worthy, she can have a family, a real one, not just with the love of her life, to have brothers and sisters, i think she was THE change for many of the them as Derek and Mark; it’s not right i believe but i think Maggie will never be Lexie, she’ not a change Meredith was waiting for, Meredith got her change, she doesn’t need another one, and even if Maggie is great and worthy, Meredith needs Lexie not someone like her.

If Lexie hadn't died Meredith would always have someone to lean on since Cristina left and Derek died, (except Alex) Lex would have been a great emotional support, I don't despise Amy and Maggie as sisters, but Lexie was unique to Mer. If Lexie had been with her sister during Derek's death, Mer would take Lexie with her to San Diego for Ellis' birth; when the patient attacked Meredith, Lex would never have separated from his sister NEVER

She's fully aware that if she continued to treat Lexie like she did for longer time she'd end up like Elis which she doesn't like to happen. A lot of growth happened with her character. She's in pain. She had a past which wouldn't be that easy to understand for people who haven't experienced it first hand or at least haven't given much time to even think about it.

Cristina was undeniably the best character to come from Greys and one of the best tv characters to have ever been created, BUT Lexie...Lexie was so special and she truly brought so much life to the show, the characters, and the storylines, I mean the hospital is now called Grey Sloan after LEXIE GREY. She deserved so much better. Her death was brutal. And she was an amazing character. And it’s so weird to think of Chyler Leigh hardly gets the recognition for her role as Lexie Grey even now, and yet her character truly is STILL the heart of a show she’s no longer apart of. I hope we get to see Lexie on the beach or at least see Chyler reprise her role as Lexie at least in some way before the show ends.
