my favorite holiday memory is from the christmas right before my grandpa died. he had cancer and he left the hospital to spend his last couple of days with us. I remember being about 7 and not understanding what was going on with my grandpa. honestly I thought he had some sort of a cold. I thought it would pass in a day or two. but the part I remember as being my favorite was when I opened my gift from him. I was so happy to see that I got exactly what I wanted, and the look of happiness, of satisfaction filled his eyes. that's why this was my favorite memory. the look of pure happiness in his eyes warms my heart to this day. My best holiday memory ever has to be when my grandpa, who had cancer at that time, told me only two days before Christmas, that he was in remission and that he could still be with us on Christmas for another few years! I am so thankful for it xx Keep doing your good work Mere !

I think my FAVORITE holiday memory was back when I was little and had just started getting into the idea of holiday giving. I was around 7 and my family had decided to begin volunteering at shelters and what not. I had the idea to make food for the firemen and policemen who had to work on christmas day (I also cried because I love christmas and thought it was dumb that they had to work) . We made them homemade tamales and hot cocoa; but when we dropped them off was what made this memory. The firemen were actually so incredibly happy and some policeman actually let me ride in his police car. I've made homemade tamales and hot cocoa for my neighborhood hero's ever since then. I understand how hard they work and how hard it is to not be with family on such a loving day. It's amazing how doing simple little things out of appreciation and love can create such amazing memories and smilies. I'm so happy you mentioned that christmas wasn't all about receiving gifts and what not because it's so much more than that.

Tip for waking up early: Don't stay up past midnight. Your sleep quality will be waaayyy better if you go to bed before midnight. Set the alarm at 8 or 9 am and when the alarm goes, it's okay to snooze one time. But when it goes again, use your phone. The screen will wake you up. Also try to sit up as soon as you can. If you're a coffee drinker, make a cup fast! These things helped me a lot to be a morning person. Good luck guys! 💕

My favorite winter memory is when I first saw snow. I live in a tropical climate, so I NEVER get any snow in my area. When I was 9, my family and I went to Canada for Christmas to visit relatives, and they had a BUNCH of snow. I WAS SO EXCITED!!!!! It was a real dream come true kind of moment, I played in that cold, white, beautiful snow for hours on end, until I got a bad frostbite. I would go home, warm up for about an hour, and right back out I would go. My cousins thought I was crazy, but I always had a unique connection with snow. Love u Mere!!

Hi Mere:)) I'm from Vietnam. I very admire you. My favorite holiday memory is that I saw real snowflakes in winter for the first time when I was 14. Well, Vietnam is a country that has no snow in winter, except one small place that has snow in winter, it is Sapa. Only Sapa has snow in winter because it's located in high mountain. It was a moment when I and my family had a tour to visit Sapa just to see and touch snow. It was the first time and also the last time that I saw snowflakes because of condition and far distance. It was so wonderful when seeing snow dropping, and I thought that I was in beautiful heaven. That was the best feeling ever because you know, there is rarely snow in Vietnam. I and my family had a happy time in Sapa together. We took lots of pics with snow and many nice-shaped ice on the trees and leaves. I will never forget the feeling when I stood on snow ground with a lot of snowflakes on my hair. I wish I could go back to Sapa someday. I'm so jealous of those who live in countries which have snow in winter :)

My favorite Christmas memory was 2 years ago, My grandfather has always been sick most of my life he had MS (Multiple Sclerosis) so he wasn't always able to do the things that normal grandpas do. but this certain Christmas, he was doing really well! My whole family was over at my grandparents house on Christmas Eve, listening to Christmas music and talking. My grandpa asked my grandma to dance with him and it is one of my favorite memories, he was so well and happy and it just makes me happy thinking about it now :) this year is my first Christmas without him. it's going to be very hard but when I think about the memories it makes me forget the hardships and remember the good parts of his life I spent with him! My favorite holiday memory is when we spend our Christmas holiday in the streets. I was in an organization and we decided to have a gift giving to those homeless people. Specially to those children and older people. We gave some delicious spaghetti, fried chicken and a piece of a cake that we did actually cooked. Seeing them spending their Christmas in the streets is really depressing. but seeing their smiles makes me happy too. We also gave them a gift. a toy for those children and a clothes to those older people. THAT WAS THE MY MOST FAVORITE HOLIDAY MEMORY and we're deciding to do the same thing again this coming Christmas :)

I've had many great Christmases, all full of joyful moments and love. But there was this one time that I will never forget. I was 8 years old, celebrating the holidays, as usual, with my grandparents. My mother was always away on business trips in foreign countries, so i spent most of my childhood at my grandparents' house. I remember that "Santa" had already come and left the presents (at least that's what my grandparents said lol) so i ran to the Christmas tree. Under it i saw the Barbie Doll house i had always wanted. I was so happy that i could finally play with my dolls in a house. While i was taking a good look at my present, the doors opened and someone came in. The person had a hood so i couldn't recognize them. But when i heard the voice - i immediately knew. My mom had come for Christmas! I threw the doll house away and ran to her. I can't describe the happiness i felt. She then pulled out presents from her luggage but i ignored them because no present was better than mom.

My favorite memory was when I was 8 years old, my dad was away three months because of work and it was around holidays. During Christmas Night, right before my brother, my mother and I were about to eat. We heard the phone in the living room. The three of us ran, thinking dad would be at the phone. And yes! He talked about how much le loves us and that we need to have a Beautiful Christmas even if he is away from home. We taught he would come right for dinner but he said that he can't then we return to the table and we saw him, sitting down eating some turkey and he said: ¡I would never miss a holiday with my family!, and we start to cry and ran to hug him. My favorite holiday memory that i never forget is when my dream come true. when i was a kid i really want to play with snow in the winter season, but i live in the country that doesn't have winter season, so i can't do this things (so sad) :(. and when i'm in senior high school my parents give me holiday trip with them to go to some country that have winter. i'm very happy and excited when i know that and yeah my dream to playing with snow is come true. and until now this is my favorite holiday ever. :)

My favorite holiday memory is sledding. There is a huge hole in the ground in front of my house, so every winter, when it would snow, my siblings and I would take our sleds and slide down the hole. Then, when we would come back in the house, we would make ourselves hot chocolates with marshmallows on top. I miss those days!!

My favorite holiday memory is last Christmas, when I first met my current boyfriend. We live far away each other. I live in Saigon, a city in the South of Vietnam. He lives in America. For me, Christmas had been a normal day, I still had to go to school and do my work. In my whole life before, when I live with my parents, even now when I live far from home for my study, there is nothing called gifts or wishes. But when he came to my life, he gave me my first Christmas gift, spent time with me, he did bring me some "cold feeling" in the hot weather of Saigon, at that time I know that he will be my Santa for the rest of my life. Since then, I wish he and I will try our best to keep this long distance relationship last forever.

My favourite holiday memory: Christmas isn't that widely celebrated here in India but when I was in 7th grade, I remember reading the *"Two of a Kind: Diaries"* (*thumbs up if you know what I'm talking about*) and I read about the concept of Secret Santa there and I loved it so much. So I decided to make my girl classmates (because it was the dark period when guys and girls didn't play together) participate and we made chits. And let me tell you, I was the awesomest Secret Santa (for my age and budget), I loved sneaking in gifts in small schedules of time when the class would be empty (due to morning assemblies; we didn't have lockers so the bags would be unattended; and I could leave assembly early because I was in the choir which meant that we used to disperse first and then others would disperse class-wise). I used to love the clueless but happy expression of my, er, gift..receiver (?) (What do you call them, let me know) and I felt like the best actress in the world xD The revealing day was amazing since she got me a really huge chocolate (I LOVED chocolates, still do)
