Is a beast of a wave. Was pretty much the only break holding the swell, rest were unrideable for the most part.

Can I ask....what is the localism like here? Am moving to the area from the UK in 2 months. Competent surfer with an understanding of surf etiquette and ocean navigation....Just don't want to piss the locals off and ruin what could be a go to surf spot!

Can't talk personally as I am from about an hour north. Merewether/Newcastle has produced a large number of world class surfers so is rich in surf culture and is known for drawing people to the area. I would suggest joining Merewether Surfboarders Club and get involved after feeling out the local lads and girls. I think you'll live the area and surfing the local breaks.
