Can you do this same thing with Dragon homes. I was considering deleting all mine and building a couple rank 8 and some rank 7 this way.

How did you manage to get the cost of the basic vaults to stay at 40? My price went up and up, it's now over 400 per vault.

Sadly for me I don't have any coin vaults taking up more than one space or any three merges with my coin vaults

Get three of the largest apples from the golden trees or three larger mountains or even three larger ponds. They work way better for bubbling.

On my game the level 2 vaults cost 4,000 bricks :/ the price kept going higher when I clicked out of the buying window. I am pretty much stuck now?

Not really - you just need to bubble the onea on the loyt and it will drop back.
