combining two or more SAS data sets, merge combines observations across data sets
based on the values of one or more common variables
Different types of Merges:
There are 5 types of merges
1: One to one merge (without relation)
2: One to one merge (with relation)
3: One to many merge (with relation)
4: Many to one merge (with relation)
5: Many to many merge (with relation)

That was good mam , but instead of X=1 and Y=1, we can use separately X=1 for first matching data , Y=1 for second matching data.
