1:07:30 - The levels are counted by the difficulty you pass them (of course only the ones where Squid is trying to kill you), the Easy difficulty grants you 4 of those arrow pointing up things when you complete a level in that difficulty, and it counts down the more you lower the difficulty, that's the "auto" thing you saw, it's your current difficulty, you have gotten 162 difficulty points out of 244.

There are 2 methods of beating Helpy, one is by finishing his battery (which is the intended way), the other one is by doing the trick you just did. The fact that you defeated this boss through the 2nd method is extremely impressive! :D

Another great Will you Snail video. Helpy is the best boss in the game. Those box guys are the most annoying little craps in the game. 1 chapter left. The tower defense levels have a boss in the 4th level. Good luck. Oh l, don't worry... Mama said is not squids mom. Who knew a vacuum v. snail game of volleyball could be so interesting. :)

The path at 12:30 IS actually a secret, you can get past the currents by jumping a few times. I really recommend going there when you finished the game, though

Honestly really impressive how well merg is doing, a lot of these levels on easy difficulty are extremely difficult. Even dunking on helpy (easy difficulty) is tough to do. Cant wait to see the next episode, I hope you take the time to 100% complete the game, theres a lot more to this than the main game.

i wasn't expecting this game to be amusing in lore aspect too, but im actually immersed in it. i thought that the concept of the game itself and the gameplay would be all this game had to offer but turns out it wasn't, and i very much appreciate that as a player! plus i like how the gameplay remains dynamic and changing throughout the game. im really enjoying it so far

the lore is actually surprisingly deep and there are so many little tiny details that the game manages to incorporate into the characters despite there not being a crazy amount of dialogue (barring squid's lines) its very fun worldbuilding to speculate about

the 244 arrow things means the difficulty of each level if you want to get all of them you have to beat all of the platformer levels including the tower defense one in the highest difficulty this also includes all the bosses

The arrows on the level select show what difficulty you beat that level on, and the 162/244 shows the total difficulty completing (aka beating every level on max difficulty gives 244/244)

8:08 this is a weird pull but there is an old C64 platform called Creatures - one level has underwater segments. The way that some underwater obstacles are placed and the way they move in this level reminds me very much of what I'm seeing here. I guarantee Creatures is older than 90% of your viewership (1990) 😂 Weirdly specific I know! It's the second level of that game, for anyone interested - be prepared for a banger soundtrack!

From my understanding, the boxes that say "AUTO" in every level and have 4 arrows going up are difficulty signifiers. If you're on the Easy(hardest) difficulty, all the arrows are lit up, Infinitely Easy(easiest) they're all off, and so forth (i think at least)

Great video, Merg! The way you killed Helpy (the basketball boss) was actually the really hard way, the intended strat is to indeed make him run out of battery. The battery charging station runs out eventually too, it's visible as a bar there. I tried for really long to do it the way you did (it's really useful for speedrunning purposes (which this game is great for, by the way, there's even an achievement for it-you could try that!)) and I never got it to work, so congrats on doing it like that the first time! :D 1:07:12 Also, as for your confusion about the amount of ^s you had at the end-you get one for each level for each difficulty, so since you are beating most of the game on the highest difficulty, you get 4 points for each (then 3 for the slightly lower difficulty etc).
