Music from the video game "Metroid Prime 2: Echoes"
Пікірлер: 456

To me, this music fits perfectly. Fast enough to suit a boss fight with that monstrosity, but slow enough to give a foreboding feeling that you know the larval form won't be the only thing you fight in this swamp. The occasional 5-beat drum roll starting at 0:38 also really builds up the overall feeling of the battle

As much as I loved Prime 1, I feel like the music in Prime 2 was just absolutely KILLER. It blew Prime 1's OST out of the water, and Prime 1 had a kickass soundtrack too! I effing love these games, holy crap.

Some people say that the Light/Dark Ammo system was a mistake, but I personally liked the idea. It gave the swarm units some more value, added a bit of strategy for conservation.
@SectorZeroGP2 жыл бұрын
Indeed is in my opinion something that points one of the best sides of the game. In this game some of the feelings the atmosphere gives you the sensation that “you shouldn’t ‘ve went to aether and you don’t belong there” In that sense, the fact of you have ammo could mean that your chozo tech isnt fully compatible with thoose luminoth weapons (for instance, the last weapon is essentially a copy from quadraxis system) :3
@RockStoneLee192 жыл бұрын
@@SectorZeroGP this and they thought spamming the annihilator beam infinitely will be EZ mode. Or even the other two beams alone. Guess I'm guilty ever since I got the wave, ice and plasma beams on 1. Barely used power XD
@SectorZeroGP2 жыл бұрын
@@RockStoneLee19 well but that is a mistake from the dev team if you think about it. The problem isnt that you “barely use the normal beam” but they dont incentivate you to use the normal weapons. In this sense, prime 1 did it better since the “yellow” enemies give you reasons to not forget about the default weapon. However, in prime 2 the dark/light/anihilator beams are so powerful in the correct environment that you just dont have a real reason to use the normal one. Think about this, for instance dark samus is indeed a “normal creature” so she is weak against the dark energy and strong against light, so if you get the darkburst you can almost oneshot her (it literally takes about 40% max hp on the second battle). Meanwhile… the ony reason to use the normal weapon is that you have no ammo (maybe because you didnt manage it propperly or because you hadnt got enought expansions) . A good solution could’ve been this, create a 3rd type of enemy “hybrid” who were 50% resistant against dark/light attacks and 75% resistant against anihilator beam but weak against suppermissiles and normal beam. Also, increase the charged dark/light beam cost to 10 and the dark/lightburst costs to 20+ 20 missiles would make it perfectly balanced imo.
@heathersmith4042 Жыл бұрын
@@RockStoneLee19 the annihilator beam actually does less raw damage against most enemies because of it's dual nature. it's only real use in combat is a single shot to light beacons to nuke everything in a dark aether room, which the ammo system doesn't really have any effect on, and the sonic boom doing the most burst damage against emperor ing's first phase.
@olivier4916 Жыл бұрын
That was a brilliant idea actually

This game gave you a glimmer of hope as you saw U-mos, hoping he would help you on your way, and that hope was crushed as U-mos threw you into yet another pit of isolation, yet you knew he was watching, which made that "isolated" feel into a "oh god im all alone and being stalked by a mutant moth" feel.

Somehow, this remains my favorite Metroid Prime music track of all time. It's not either famous, booming, the most epic, or the most subtle, and the boss itself was good but wasn't anything that made history like Quadraxis, but the combination of the incredibly ominous atmosphere, the orchestral instruments, and that percussion string that pops up repeatedly somehow makes for a wonderfully compelling music track that's equal parts fear, courage, mystery, combat, and determination.

I remember the fight well, took me forever to realize I was supposed to get behind it and shoot it. I thought the damn thing was immortal. Regardless the chykka did age rapidly, their was no second cocoon. One was on high level yes, but you shoot it it falls into the water and the chyka comes out. It then sinks. The adult emerges from the body of the larva after it sinks from blaster wounds. It was the same boss. The cocoon you think you saw is the first one, you never see both at the same time

It's Dark Samus' Hand, as your Phazon suit made Dark Samus. That's what makes Prime 2. Than After escaping the ing she gets called back to the planets of Bryyo, Elysia and Norion. After beating DarkSamus and the Aroura unit 313 on planet Phazze. Curruption within the solar system is gone, wending Prime series. This should clear up that query.

@ColdTRemor74 I shall my friend... the MP series are a like a constant training, where all that you practiced and, eventually dominated, will result in a final exam, when meeting the final boss, it's not the same if you face the final boss at the beginning of the game, with everything you'll acquire, than, if you face the final boss, eventually, at the finale, where practiced you with your equipment, until you dominated the use of the "ice beam" for example...

@ColdTRemor74 Okay then, 2 of 4 ;) Now regarding the skill point, there's a factor in MP bosses that we'll call timing, their vital weak spot will not always become vulnerable to your equipment EVEN if you remove the obstacles and figure out where to shoot, most of the times they'll have force fields, or will be vulnerable only during certain periods of time, and of course, they'll defend themselves, while you shoot them, skill is required when you dodge and attack at the same time...

The Luminoth were also able to do the very same thing, since getting possessed involves willpower, so the Luminoth resisted it and that's why the were killed instead of possessed, and the Luminoth didn't just instantly die when they went to Dark Aether, they died over time. Please, think logically before you want to argue which character would win over another, since it's often impossible to truly say since they both have completely different experiences.

Metroid's bosses... they are simply the best.. a combination of challenge, skills, and difficulty... They can be the iceberg's tip... but never unfair; rather that we may become used to bosses which require no patience and intelligence; just shoot them, Just because in order to cause damage to them, you need to uncover their weak spot... and may be followed by two or more phases... In conclusion... it takes intelligence, skill, practice and patience... to complete a Metroid game, Metroid FTW

@ColdTRemor74 it may be, but the main difference between the "scan system" in the prime series, is that in MP3 the give you a full-flegded description of your enemy, since they can make puzzling enough, again, due to the weaponry system, in MP1&2 the scans were nothing but references of the being, like what/how was it made from, and a background story which, is completely useless against it for example:

@Darkunov Perhaps the scan visor can tell you enough clues... but the rest is up to you to decipher the rest of the puzzles... as for example: this object is made of "this" material... which weapon can destroy/go through "this" material? the answer is to actually READ de description of your equipment... not just like modern-day shooters; "Cool, I have a new weapon... let's abuse it and shoot everything with it..."

Like I also said, Samus still took damage from the atmosphere, whether or not it was a lot or a little, taking damage is still taking damage. She had to get the Light Suit and that was the only way she didn't take any damage from Dark Aether.
