Just tried it at 6. Super aggressive but doable. Never had a shave like that. For pass No.1, scale 6 is OK, then perhaps scales 3-4 are better for the rest of the passes. Great shaver overall.

Had mine for 3 months, it's a beautiful razor, I've only ever used it on no.6 setting.

I dont know whether to get the matte finish or the chrome plated finish.

@@Jay-son. I bought the chrome plated one, it still looks as good as new and I bought another one just before Christmas as a spare one.......another chrome plated one!! I'd never use anything else and using it is sometimes the highlight of my day! Hope you enjoy using yours!!

I have a nice little scar on my cheek bone from setting 6 ..lol That razor has such a nice range of aggression. If your not careful it can whack you good on the higher settings. I do love the futur …it’s really it’s own thing. Ill always keep one in the collection

How do you set it to .5? The first setting is on 1.

I am confused, according to some blade gap comparison charts.. the most mild setting on this razor is more aggressive than a Gillette Slim on 9.. that sounds insanely aggressive.. is this the case or am I misreading the charts?

I have the Futur and the Q-Shave and they shave wonderfully! I've never tried them on such a low setting, might have to try.

She Shaves with Jill I tend to prefer Mild to medium DE razors and this fits the bill for me on the lowest settings. I love safety razors like this that feel smooth but can still get u bbs.

The higher settings are too much for me too, but I get great shaves on the lower end of the range.

Which finish is the most durable with this specific razor? The (polished chrome) or the (matte chrome) ?
@mattdailyshaver37823 жыл бұрын
Not sure . I have had the polished for some time and it looks brand new . But is u are worried about scratches, maybe the matte is better

I’ve just bought this razor... when I change the blade length settings I can’t notice any difference. Is this normal? Are the changes so minuscule? Or have I got a faulty one?
@raulvelazquez98093 жыл бұрын
Los cambios son minúsculos y se notan más la apertura pues la navaja no se mueve de lugar 👍

That means you already master the angle AND the pressure. Lower setting (below 2) let you close more the angle and press more (down to 1)
@mattdailyshaver37823 жыл бұрын
That sounds like something is off. There is a noticeable range of blade gaps with this razor. U should see quite a large gap in the highest setting. U may want to send it back for replacement
@stefansmith1446 Жыл бұрын
Blade flexes a lot on this one, it's not rigidly clamp down by the top cap, scary stuff.
@Aspirintax8 ай бұрын
Nope. No flex at all. You probably got a bad one or a fake one.

Whats up with all these passes? I was thinking about trying a safety razor, and have watched a lot of videos now.....and everybody is shaving multiple times. I have used a Gilette Mach 3 for several years, and I shave once, and Im done.
@daniels44742 жыл бұрын
Using a safety razor is easier on the skin, once you get the hang of it. You don't press and shave, but let the weight of the razor do the work. It is also overall much cheaper that modern razors in the long term. I'v spent a total of $400 in the last eight years on shaving razors and blades, but that is because I bought a Feather AS-DS safety razor (which is my favorite). With a Mach 3, it would have cost me $780.00. A 5 pack of razors are .99 to 2.50. MAch 3 refill is 2.5 per cartriage. It is also about the experiance, like a spa treatment. Plus, you can use much more different shaving soaps without clogging the razor. A 5 pack of razors are .99 to 2.50. MAch 3 refill is 2.5 per cartriage.

I can't use it on my neck, will slice through a couple weeks beard growth with no problem at the lowest setting though. I do like using it on my face. I seriously don't see why anyone would want to use this razor at anything above the 1 setting unless you would want to get rid of your wife. It's just a confusing product.
@NiklasMalmqvist2 жыл бұрын
I just bought this as my first safety razor, and tried it out today for the first time, and it was the worse experience ever! It was so dull, it got cought up in my hair, and it was bouncing over my skin. I started out at number one, and worked my way up to 6, but it was no difference. I used a Derby Extra blade in it, and then I changed it out for a really sharp Feather, but it was just the same. I had to go over the same area over and over again......while with my old Gillette Mach 3, its so i easy.....it just glides over the skin, and Im smooth as a baby. I also bought some Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood, and o boy how that sucked! It dried out almost instantly.....I had to ad water all the time, for it to not dry out. The Gillette with regular shaving foam is 100 times better. What a waste of money!

Just sounds like you don’t know what you’re doing honestly. Shaving with DE razors is more about technique in all aspects of it and once you’ve learned how to do it properly, you notice a huge difference compared to cartridge razors. I’d say stick with it until you get the hang of it and try different techniques. What works for me might not work for you. Ymmv (your mileage may vary) or so they say, goodluck!

Watching you shave with that razor was painful, it sounds painful, looks painful.
