I totally agree. And I also think she was actually partially enchanted, like Gwen was by her in season 5. I suspect that's what Morgause did to her, or something to that extent. But it wasn't uncovered in the end. Her reasons were not explored enough. First we see a woman, who is so empathetic to regular people, seems to see everyone asan equal, had Gwen as a bestie, trusted Merlin. Was maybe annoyed by Arthur, but was still his friend and fought by his side. But then Morgause happened, and Morgana turned out to be a psychopath? Sus.

I'm kind of sad that they didn't leave enough time for Morgana or Arthur to interact with Merlin knowing who he really was. I think it would have been entertaining and interesting to watch for even most of a season for each.

Morgana becoming irredeemably evil is one of the most unsettling change I have seen a fictional character go through...This show starts off as a light, refreshing, almost a semi-comedy. The story could have gone in so many different directions, but they turned it into a dark and bleak tragedy.

This was a really gorgeous and raw edit in the way all of the emotions were portrayed perfectly through both the audio clips from the show and this cover of "In the End"! As someone who discovered Merlin about three years ago, I feel similarly about coming late to the party, but I learned the Merlin fandom is immortal. When you think about it, Morgana was never inherently evil. It was her love for people that fueled her need for revenge. The people of Camelot were the villains that hunted down innocent people just because they had magic. It was so unfair. She KNEW this. She felt powerless for so long, that she felt that she had no choice, but to fight those that would have her killed. It was self defense, although Merlin wouldn't ever dare to think about giving up on his Destiny. To save everyone, including those with darkness inside them. He wanted so badly to be everyone's light at the end of the tunnel, and yet he could never show it. IN THE END, Merlin felt just as powerless as Morgana. Just like Arthur and Merlin, Morgana and Merlin shared another coin.
