Hi! I took up tennis in 2019 and recently added yoga as a supplemental workout and find it very rewarding although I'm only really doing work at the beginner or elderly level in my group classes. I saw a photo of a mermaid pose and went "wow!", googled it and found your video. I appreciate the step-by-step instructions as well as the variable options. I'm 6'1" 240lbs and can't quiiiiite get my foot to my elbow in my practice yet, but I can certainly visualize how to get there better than I could before. Thanks for your work making and uploading this video :)

You can't say if you can't do pigeon pose this pose is not for you. I couldn't do it 8 years ago and couldn't do mermaid or the splits but with consistency, practice and patience I have accomplished the poses. Unless you mean for medical reasons that is a whole different story. Thank you for showing us the moves step by step. I'm always in tune for a refresher. If it wasn't for my trainer I wouldn't accomplish to pursue my dream❤

I love this tutorial!!! Thank you so much🙏. Can you do more on difficult poses & how a beginner could progress. Poses like 3 leg down dog. I find very difficult to lift the leg up properly as many experienced yoga people do. My question is how can I approach there. Do I have to use any band or anything? Thank you🙏

I feel like I’m doing something wrong here, I seem to be unable to lock my foot into my elbow.. it barely makes it to my forearm. I’m definitely more flexible than average, but I’m thinking my groin and thighs aren’t as flexible as I’d like. Could this be why I can’t nail this pose just yet?

Hey - glad you used this video to help move into different poses! It sounds like you may have some tight quads and possibly your back may not be ready for the pose as it’s a big backbend so maybe try and make sure your super warmed up - it’s a hard “bind” to grab your foot and put it in your elbow so it’s not simple and takes lots of time and muscle memory developed - aka flexibility! Good luck :)
