I really like the face mold, the hair and the fashions. Unfortunately while I like that each tail is unique, it just being a solid plastic piece kind of kills my interest.

They're cute and stylish. I love the upper half of the dolls. Not a fan of the hard plastic tail. It would be cute if the tail was made of clothes (similar to Ariel fin on some dolls) also no stand

I love that mermaids just wanna be mermaids and don't wanna be human. I love this concept. They just need to fix the tail so they can sit and possibly have articulation at the knee joint I'll be grabbing a few of the girls

Actually the top part of her tail turn light-gray in hot water ... I would still prefer to have "knee" joint at least also...

That was what I was thinking! I would have replaced one of the torso's articulation for knee articulation, her tail being so stiff looks very weird imo

Yeah I just followed instructions lol. Said to use cold water on the box and in my little kit 🤷‍♂️. The second doll worked amazing with cold water 💧

The box is super cool looking! But you're right about possible tails breaking. I think it was a Marketing Design to make the package stand out from all the other boxes on the shelves. Which it definitely will do. I think these dolls are so pretty but I wish the tails came off with legs inside. I really love this doll's face!!!! The purse reminds me of a buoy. Thank you for trying on an OMG earring for us to see that it fits this new doll.I'm really loving that jacket! I wish she came with a stand.I wish she could sit up too. Last year on Instagram, I discovered that entire month of May is Mer-May devoted to Mermaids. So it really would be nice if these dolls could sit upright. It would make for some fun photography. I love doll photography, so I'm not sure yet if I will buy these dolls. But they are so pretty that I'm sure that they will sell. They are the prettiest Mermaids that I have seen so far. Adding the extra articulation to have them sit up would, imo, bring MGA a lot more sales.Mermaids often sit on the rocks above the water, even children would love that little extra articulation. Maybe they will add that in the future.

Omg I was most excited for her because I love her hair and sporty outfit, however her color scheme looked so much prettier in promo pics than irl it looks like. She looked pink/lime green in the promo pics but she looks more yellow/red in the video. Her dark eyes and super long hair is so pretty though..

I generally like the faces, except some eye colours look better than others with these inset eyes. The upper part of the doll is great. The tail also looks nice, for a tale. However, there is not enough versatility for me. Even if they were able to sit, it would help. I might end up getting one, but definitely no more than that. I would like to see someone try head swapping with a made-to-move or other body.

They do look nice and I'm glad that their heads are more proportional to the body. But I am not digging those like "clothed" tails they all have. I just want my mermaid to have a fun scaly tail or whatever. I mean it's creative but eh and that whole tail being a "stand" too is meh. I agree that they should def bend a bit more, but I'm guessing they don't because of that tail stand...thing.

They look good, excpet the tail not being articulated is a huge turnoff. I feel that only the upper half of these dolls being articulated was a bad decision and that the tail and waist should have been more articulated so that they can sit and pose better. And something I have not seen people address is if the tail would get moldy or ruined from a kid playing with them in the bathtub too much or a hypothetical scenario like that.

In the PR box it literally says the tail can be used as a stand. I do wish the tail itself would have more articulation, just think about being able to flap the tail like a mermaid with!

As a person whose not into mermaids, I find these super impressive. Adore the face mold, the hair and overall style but again I'm not a mermaid anything fan so 🤷🏽‍♀️. If the end up doing like mermaid high where the tail is clothes covering doll legs... then they may get my money. Not sure if that could cause legal issues tho

I'm so torn on this line! The upper half of these dolls...stunning! The lower half is where I lose interest unfortunately. I definitely understand the whole mermaid forever thing and I do love how they gave each doll a tail that reflects their personal style. But I would have loved a removable tail with legs underneath. Now MGA seems to listen to it's consumers, so if this line does well, maybe they will resolve that in wave 2? Anyway great review and I am excited to see these in person for myself and see if it changes my mind!

why? there's SO MANY dolls with legs? literally 99.99% of dolls on shelves have legs... these are MERMAIDS they have tails! I do hate that the tails look like cloth material,, just give us an actual tail !!

This is the best one in that line as far as I'm concerned. The dark eyes look better than the eyes on the others. The only thing I don't like is that they try to make the fish tails "fashionable" and it just messes up the mermaid asthetic in my opinion. I'd much rather have mermaid tails that look like mermaid tails, instead of tails that are trying to represent fabric or some weird stylized form. The rocker mermaid's tail is supposed to represent a guitar. No, MGA! Just give them normal mermaid fins, not weird stylized garbage. We don't need a tail that looks like sweatpants.

Lost opportunity on these. The face, hair, and coats do seem nice, and I even like how each one has a theme to reflect their personality.. and then it all goes downhill from there with the molded on tops, lack of articulation, even the box 'art' is just a photoshopped image of them, so many corners cut on this line. I also agree the box with the exposed tail seem like a disaster waiting to happen.

Thank you for mentioning the odd package!. A lot of influencers that got sent this said they loved the packaging (🍑👅…) and I’m like: ewww all the grubbiness those tails will be exposed to! Kids touching them in the store. Even Walmart/Amazon I’ve received greasy nasty fingerprints on the plastic packaging of other dolls/figures so I don’t even want to think about this tail hanging out there.

Im not gonna lie I think the plastic tail is a missed opportunity. They cold have had a plastic tail but the “pant” tail part could have been an actual fabric piece that you could take off and change, that would have been a really interesting take on mermaids and it definitely would have been better then an all plastic tail.

I think the reason why she can't sit is because if she bent any further she'd have an odd butt sticking out. Even if they painted that part it'd still look odd. Also, I think her bracelets are designed to not fall off because of water play.

Their faces are beautiful 😍, but I'm on the fence, frankly. Not a fan of the poorly articulated tail, would have gladly sacrificed the color change element for a more articulated tail, bc I think it's a waste. Perhaps I'm overthinking it, but why are these mermaids wearing so many clothes? Does it get cold enough in the tropical sea to need a puffy jacket? That's just my opinion though

They could've just been regular girls not mermaids, because the tails looked like the bottom part of an outfit jordiee's tail for instance looks like a sweat pant, taking into consideration the fact that is a tail that can't change to match future tops, they have to be stuck at a certain aestethic, they worked better as humans if they wanted to make mermaids they just could've given them a natural looking mermaid tail

I'm not a huge fan of these tbh the face looks so sterile and lifeless and I don't like the tail much it's so stiff and kinda boring. It could be cute if they add joints or or if it was like a hard plastic snap on would be super cool so you could remove or even swap them around.

The tails look fake & should've been legs(or tail) coverings without the color changing gimmick. 😕 Think about this: Kishiko & Jordie has real tails covered by sleeves(seeing as their fins look organic but their tails look covered), Shellnell has legs covered by her pearl lined mermaid skirt, Riviera & Harmonique are good as is(the tails look like a part of their anatomy even though one look like denim & the other crystal). The dolls also reminded me of Project MC² dolls, just made with more budget(MGA's swimming in money after LOL's success) 🤑. But I don't know if it'll last seeing as the dolls look so niche, unless they make regular fashion doll versions ala Mermaid High. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Now, to Dom. Thank you for an actual review 🥰, I stopped paying attention after Clawdeena & Hextian's reveals. They didn't "show & tell" much about theirs, especially Hextian. 🙄 P. S. Another thing to note, those tails are going to get so dirty. Just like those unprotected NaNaNa dolls(especially since they're made of fabric).
