If you want easy setup just leave all wires on top of motor and attach one sensor to frame next to chain and another sensor to the rolling metal. The sensors need to be across from each other. The only thing you have to keep in mind is that the app will show garage is open when closed and closed when open. Took me 5 minutes to setup.

I am stuck … I can’t seem to get the wires from the Meross into the holes on the motor how do I get the thin wires onto the holes on the motor? possibly strip the wires back or do I push the orange tabs in and remove the red and white wires?

Yes you should be able to strip the wires and push the tabs while you insert the wires and once they are inside then release the tab. Don’t remove the red and white wires. They also stay inside. They are for your manual switch.

Nice! However, the installation seems to take some time. And, that is probably because of the front of garage sensors. I just installed a My Q wireless garage door opener. Works okay, but, yours seems like it would confirm better if the door is opened or closed; again, due to the sensors...

Can this device open the garage door as you approach the house, without pushing a button?

No but you can set conditions on your iPhone to make that happen via home app

Yes. Through Alexa you can create 2 (quick & easy) routines with a location trigger that is based on the location of your phone. One routine opens the door when your phone is within proximity (you arrive) and one closes the door when your phone is out of proximity (you leave). You can also do it using Google. Both are very similar.

Is this better than MSG100 when it comes to connectivity? My wifi router is a bit further away from the garage door. Would MSG200 be a better fit considering it has an antenna?

Yes if it takes a trigger to open it. This acts as a trigger basically touching two wires as a pulse to trigger open so if your sliding gate requires a pulse it will work.
