Awesome video Mandee, At my local tracks if a yellow comes out in turn four the officials go back to previous lap. If leader takes white they do a green/white restart with a one lap shootout to the checkered flag.

Freeze the field when the yellow comes out. Except for the cars that are stuck in the wreck. Man the rain today sucked!!!! Was looking forward to the race n meeting you guys. Hell ya coulda stayed at my 🏠 house. I'm around the corner from the track

If the yellow was already out then you should have gotten your spot back. At our local track the field is frozen as soon as the yellow comes out and they go back to the last completed lap if not enough cars passed the flagstand to count the next lap.

Love your videos and have a request. Since you go to so many tracks that alot of us may not be familiar with it might be interesting to do a little back ground on the track and maybe the size and surface that the cars will be running on. Keep it up!!

I understand Mikes frustration and having to go back to last lap completed and racing back, when we had our super late models I felt his pain! However when I took a GM job I tried to have it as race back to flag stand. Now with that said we had way to many people trying to drive through people with to much cluster.

Hey Mandee. I was at this race on Monday. I agree, revert back to the last lap positions. Here is another thought, this is a little political and you may not want to touch this but it would be interesting to hear Mike's opinion on this too. Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way. Don't get me wrong, I love going to Merrittville, I've been going since the early 70's when my Dad raced there. What I would like to respectfully mention about the August BIG Block race, and I'm not complaining, just enquiring, is that a BIG block race should be limited to BIG blocks ONLY. What I saw on Monday night, in my opinion, ( I wasn't in the pits so I don't know for sure), appeared to be only a handful of BIG blocks and the majority of mods were small block. The way the track was set-up, the small blocks had the advantage traction-wise and it's been like that for a number of years. I once heard that some of the BIG block regulars refuse to come to this race because quote, " why should I go to the expense of towing car and crew all the way up to Canada only to get my ass handed to me by a small block which shouldn't even be in the race to begin with". I understand that to get a decent car count, track management has to open it up to small blocks as well. The racing was still very entertaining but if I was a BIG block team from say, New Jersey or Pennsylvania, I hate to say it, but I would probably feel the same way that a lot of the other BIG block teams do. Is it possible that the track could be groomed a little differently so that it does not give one class of mod an advantage over the other? Maybe in the intermission, they could have graded or added water, calcium ? Who knows, what do you think could have been done better? Be kind with your criticisms LOL Edit or delete this

The top series do a split yellow, if more than 1/2 the field has crossed the start line that part of the field is frozen by how they went over the line. The rest of the field is how you were on the last lap unless you stop on track or go to the work area, aka off the race track, you go to the back of the field but are on the lead lap. Alot of local tracks use the last completed lap aka all cars made it that lap. If you stop on the track, go to the work area aka off race track, you go to the back, but on the lead lap.

At Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola Fl. We never race back to the Flag. We just about always evert back to the last last. Min. The car involved in the wreck.

Hi kids! is it within the rules to put some spray foam in those side rails? lightweight and will add to the structural integrity. anyways... maybe the entire field should should go back to the last lap completed it sucks. i know, especially if you had completed a clean pass on another competitor and have to give the position back

how did you guys get across at the Rainbow Bridge? from what I know race teams are advised not to cross at that bridge because it is not set up for "commercial" traffic. as for the yellow flag situation, I suspect that you were considered as an involved car and were given your spot where you "blended back in" after making the contact rather than considered as not involved and given your spot from previous lap.

If the whole field does not cross the line prior to the yellow coming out then the whole field goes back to the last lap.

@@jakechoura2810 no it hasnt. other than the first lap the whole field rarely crosses the line when a caution comes out. the way I am used to seeing it is if a guy makes a pass for the lead at the line and then a caution comes out, that guy is still scored as the new leader as are any position changes that are past the line. the rest of the field gets scored according to previous lap. however if a guy makes a pass for the lead on the back straight and caution comes out before he gets to the line then that pass for the lead doesnt count.

The problem is consistency. I'm sure that is how it is at tracks you go too and it is how it was at tracks I went too in th 70's and 80's. Now it doesn't seem like any track has the same rules or sanctioning body

Well this is a loaded question, because either way someone is going to feel like they got screwed. My question though is why doesn't the car owner have people to work on the car? Do they not have the money to pay one or two guys to work on the car on the road? Yes, I know it is an added expense, but it is also difficult to do what needs to be done to the car without people who have the mechanical skills to work on the car. Needless to say, for the package deal with the right amount of money, you could even get someone like me. And don't laugh, because around 2010-11 I had a car owner offer me $50,000 a year to be crew chief essentially. Which he knew first hand I was more than capable to do the job. And if he wasn't killed in a highway accident, that is what I would be doing now.

Hey... you raced your ass off to get by someone at the beginning of that lap back before the yellow and now you have to back behind them again??? Shouldn't have to but since there's not a timed markers all around the track I guess go back to the last lap even though it sucks. If you don't, everyone will be fighting for spots even if they really weren't there. Take forever to go green again.
