You should not be using silicone behind that water input panel, instead it should have Bytl tape under the screws and sealant around the outside to redirect water. The silicone does not last.

Butyl tape is a MUCH better option in place of silicone on the backside of the items you're attaching to the outside of the bus. Caulk is OK around the perimeter, but use the butyl tape on backside.

If you plan on doing more modification to the sheet metal, get a nibbler. They make them for about 30 bucks to put on a drill and they just glide through sheet metal with no effort, and even cut fine if you're trying to reach the second panel from the same side.

Had problems filling fresh water; no kink and no plugged vent line. Just Forest Rivers specs off when built. Fill hose is not high enough to get the flow correct. Fill point just below a slide so I could not have it raised. Had to cut a 4 ft long filler hose to shove all the way to the tank. And then after time the internal fill hose tore. Mobile Rv repair replaced the original hose with a much better re-enforced hose! Sunnix Mobile Flagstaff, Williams and Havasu service areas. Jeff does great work.

just a thought, if you put silicon caulking on outside edges, paint will have a tough time sticking. I know you are doing things your way, but perhaps wait until after painting to apply clear caulking.
