Love this! My gramma was redoing her bedroom with a ‘1950s starlet‘a boudoir’ theme so I thrifted her a bunch of vintage perfume and makeup bottles and a silver tray for her vanity! She loved it and most of the bottles were only $5-$15 each

I always have better luck and more fun shopping at antique shops instead of thrift stores around us…I 🖤knowing that there’s a story behind every item 😊 My husband bought me a creepy doll through a local woman who buys porcelain dolls at thrift shops and transforms them into creepy ones. My son gave me a vintage ceramic haunted house that he saw in an elderly lady’s attic while doing insulation work. He said that when he told her how much I love Halloween she insisted that he should take it and gift it to me for Christmas 🎅🎃Evidently, her grown children don’t want many of her things and she was so excited to know that I would absolutely love and appreciate it. My son was so excited to tell me that she painted it herself in a ceramics class in the early 1980’s…so that was when I was still in elementary school lol 😂

Thrift stores and Antique malls are always a good time. They bring out nostalgia. I take pictures of all the things I find that my grandma has to show her the price people are asking for her every day things.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I own a vintage shop, and have people buying items that remind them of their parents or grandparents. I love old things, and hate seeing things thrown away, that are reusable. I enjoy looking at antique, and thrift stores, because you don't know what you'll come across, and you can find great deals.

I love thrifting. My husband and I go at least once a week... sometimes 2-3 times 😁 You never know what kind of deals you'll find. Love this video. Can't wait to see more like it. I'm big on recycling, repurposing, reclaiming and reusing. It's great to see others enjoying it too. XOXOXO Dawn

Wonderful video. Looking forward to more like this. I work in my Church’s thriftique. I buy and gift from it regularly. Amazing what people so generously donate. So, so sweet that you thought about giving you dad and mom the gift of music at their vacation/getaway home. So thoughtful and what a great selection of music. With the exception of BB King, I’ve seen all those bands live in concert. I remember the printers box from my ‘Industrial Arts’ 8th grade class back in the mid 70s! All those little letters so set. Oh, the 70s!? Strange times at school😂. Printer boxes do make great display pieces. I’m sure your mom and dad enjoyed the gifts.

What a great concept! We already utilize thrifting throughout the year, but to add it to the christmas portion, would definetly amp up the thrill of the hunt. Thanks for sharing this. Looking forward to seeing more of these videos.

I thrifted & hand made most of my gifts this year. I usually thrift & make at least a few each holiday, but decided to step it up a little more this year. Everyone seemed to really like them (especially the hand made ones). You got some really great finds! I know your loved ones will be thrilled with them. Happy Holidays to you & yours!

I do thrifted and from the vintage stores for gifts yearly, but I’ve also done homemade gifts. I take “classes” throughout the year, this year alone I’ve done a giant fuzzy crocheted patriotic blanket, a patriotic sea glass tree, and have a class on resin coasters at the end of the month. Most of the family members on my father in laws side LOVE anything patriotic and handmade. Last year I took painting classes and gave out several paintings. I’ve done crocheted scarves and hats before just from my knowledge of crocheting. I’ve done woven baskets and woven ornaments for the tree from classes. All these classes are local and small business so I feel like I’m helping them as well as giving a special gift to a loved one.

I really enjoyed this. I think what you found for your dad was awesome. Numerous years ago (😄😄) I bought one of my uncle's a couple of Ray Charles cds to add to his music collection for Christmas, and he got so teary-eyed because of how personal and sentimental the gift was. It's still one of my most fond Christmas memories from my young adulthood. That said, I don't do a lot of gift buying/giving, but if I do I usually give homemade baked goods to my closest loved ones. If I buy a gift, I try to give something useful. I've purchased pajamas and skin care products for my mom, and coffee mugs for my closest friends and put homemade cookies and cocoa mix with it for hot cocoa nights. Now that my kiddo is well into her teens, I just got her a new hoody this year, a book , and some skin care for her nightly skin care routine. I basically try to keep it simple, practical, and budget friendly.

I love Halloween, miniatures and thrifting too! Eventually, I am going to have a miniature Halloween dollhouse. My BF gave me 5 miniature Halloween cakes and mini pumpkin crates for Christmas. I made her some miniature bake goods. She loved absolutely ❤️ them! You can use a hair dryer to remove the miniatures from the drawer. Also, you can use museum wax to attach things in the drawer so that it won’t hurt them and you can move things around if you want too. Fun video! 😊 Happy Holidays!!

Such fun!! Thrift shopping and antique malls are right up my alley. I literally can walk to this adorable old strip mall that's super close to me. I can remember as a kid growing up shopping in the department store that had beautiful glass enclosed steps that lead to a "beauty shop" where my mom would get her hair done after shopping in the first floor , that had everything you would find in a mall today. I get so nostalgic and "feels", shopping in that same store today, now a huge antique mall. I've been trying to find the perfect hall tree there. Also during Christmas, Santa's workshop with real reindeer would open out front and we would wait impatiently to tell Santa what we wanted that year!!🎄☃️❄️🧑🎄 See where your thrifting did to me!!🤣🤣💫

I did thrifting for Christmas to! I found some stunning leather bound edition at a used book store for $15 each! These are Easton press book that generally go for much more I was thrilled. That was the big find. The other thing I did for Christmas was make some gifts with mostly items I already had, I have a huge craft space. We gave my brother a experience, when I went to Knott's scary farm with my boyfriend we somehow ended up with a extra ticket and we invited my brother to come with us, he was very happy since he's been wanting to go for a long time and when I talk to him he said I could count that as his gift. It was very fun to watch a thrifting video. I hope you had a amazing Christmas!

Your family is so great to do this. Honestly, I've tried to convince people that Thriftmas would be a better way to go since so many people say they have no money at Christmas. Unfortunately I was told it was tacky. I think they just don't want to look for gifts or give to other people. I have a sister-in-law that wouldn't even let her girls bring thrifted books home to her house. The nice Breyer horses I found and disinfected, were left behind too. Cash was better and more appreciated I was informed. Kudos to all of you

I've noticed what seems to be a Starbucks cup in your two most recent videos, including this one, and I'm not sure if you're aware of the Starbucks boycott that is currently happening. People are boycotting Starbucks because of: 1) union busting within this past year and, more recently; 2) them suing their union over the union's pro-Palestine stance. Again, I'm not sure if you are aware of this boycott, and it's not clear where you stand in the first place, but it's becoming more difficult to watch creators not say anything, or say vague, neutral-leaning things that ultimately don't stand for anything during this genocide against Palestinian people. So if you are aware of this boycott and are still continuing to give money to Starbucks, that is very disappointing. But if you weren't aware, and this is how you learn about it, I invite you to stop giving money to them and to look into other brands/companies to boycott as well. For a creator who has been rather vocal regarding social justice issues (something I've admired greatly, especially as a fellow white woman), it is disheartening to watch these recent videos and not know for certain where you stand, and it's becoming harder and harder to keep giving the benefit of the doubt to people who will not stand up against genocide. If you see this comment, I appreciate the time you spent reading this.
