Man, does this bring back memories... :) 2001.. Got a hold of the demo.. Just played one map but my imagination just got the best of me. Fast forward 10 years, I remembered it, bought it (2011) and then bought disciples 2 etc.. But nothing beats the intro to Disciples Sacred lands. I imagine all of us watching imagined we were the paladin in the intro lol.

The art style of Disciples 1 feels very Anime.

My favorite RTS/RPG from childhood was SpellForce: The Order of Dawn That was a pretty big game, all things considered.

I remember playing Sacred Lands as a kid, and trying to play 2. I remember there being a story, but my child brain couldn't grasp it. I also remember that cheats worked in multi-player lol. And my brother and I would play hotseat games,.and attempt to cheat without the other noticing

Only thing I hate is the mountain clans are so slow to get about the map

This reminds me a LOT of the Age of Wonders series.

I haven't played Age of Wonders, but from I've read it's more or less in the same style of game. The closest comparison I can give you is the Heroes of Might and Magic games.

@@MerryBytes Sounds about right. I would definitely recommend Age of Wonders 2. If you enjoyed Disciples, I think you'll love AoW2.
