Arsenal have had many different back 4’s so you’re being disingenuous here. White, Timber, Calafiori have been in and out. Merino, Odegaard have been out for a decent stretch. Jota is injury prone for Liverpool so that’s normal and Kelleher has gone in there, it’s not like Liverpool are having multiple players coming in and out. Let’s call things how they are, Liverpool had issues last season with injuries as well.

Add that to a slew of other injuries in that stretch of the season and you can see how Liverpool can actually compensate for injuries unlike Arsenal, who become one-dimensional and only have threat from set-pieces if either Saka or Odegaard are out. Of course teams will have difficulties with key players out, but managing to adapt and still put out results with what you have available is the difference. Arsenal haven't done that, they've just moaned about having one major injury and a few knocks here and there.

As an Arsenal fan, I'll admit it's looking hard for us and liverpool have done well to be in the position they're in. However there is still plenty to play for. Come next month Arsenal could win all their games and Liverpool lose to City which then puts all 3 teams 6 points within each other. If the table looks like it does now in April, I would firmly say Arsenal are out and it's Liverpools to lose.

Not buying this injury argument nonsense. When LFC were ravaged with injuries last season, pundits never highlighted the injuries the way they are defending Assnal & City's injury crisis as the reason for their bad form (I thought they both had the best squads). Some pundits even had the audacity to say Klopp should get on with it and not complain even when Klopp never complained about playing kids in the Carabao cup final against Cfc last season. Also, in this season already, LFC have their injury issues - Alisson is injured and he's arguably the best goalie in the league, Jota is injured and he's crucial to LFC's attack, Elliott is injured and he was instrumental last season, even the new recruit - Chiesa is injured and now TAA is injured, but you won't hear Slot complaining. So let no one deceive you into believing that City & Assnal are the only clubs with pressing injury concerns. And Merson talking nonsense about Assnal closing the points gap to 6 points and all, what?! do you think LFC players will be sitting under a coconut tree sipping on tequila while Assnal are clawing their way back??! What this season has revealed is that City is on a decline, and Assnal is not the force the media made them out to be.

Liverpool have been great, Arsenal & City have been really poor by their standards & there's still only 9 & 5 points in it respectively. Fine margins & with 27 games to go, there's is more than enough time to turn that around. Liverpool will have a blip at some point too as their run to Xmas is harder than the other two imo, but I hope Slot does it in his first season. Either way, they're all still in it & there's everything to play for.

How can Merson say Arsenal don’t have a mistake in them, but Liverpool do? Not saying Liverpool are definitely winning it, its still too early, but the table doesn’t lie. We’ve been the best team so far and we’re not struggling for goals like Arsenal clearly are. Arteta knew he needed a striker last season and has done nothing about it. As for the injuries, Klopp had half the team missing for a large part of last season. He won the Carabao cup with kids and it wasn’t through choice and that was mid March. Players came back too late and not fully fit and it’s why we fell off at the end. Arsenal have had a couple of players out and the system has completely gone to pot. Liverpool will drop points, but I don’t see Arsenal going on an amazing winning run, they clearly have an issue scoring right now.
