Up until Sophie's Choice I wasn't a big Meryl Streep fan but...she changed streams taking on parts that could never define her as one thing. She inhabits each character. She is a wonder and quite frankly for me, the greatest actress in motion picture history.

What a career...how does one pick the best of the lot? I mean seriously.. Sophie's Choice is in a league of its own..but I was equally mesmerized by her in Ironweed, Doubt, August Osage county, Devil Wears Prada and Bridges of Madison County. Astounding Range!

No doubt she is among greatest actress! Its just that i dont see that big characters changes( i mean it is there,but not that much); now, if u take a closer look her acting is almost the same every time- its just the image style is different( make up, hair, clothes, etc)- thats why she never dared to play something like Sally Field( 14 or 16 different chatacters in one movie!!!) or something like twins in one movie or something like that( that other great actors did)

She is an Amazing actress, no doubt about it. But some of these performances were not Academy Award worthy. She was only nominated to fill the cathegory and could have been easily replaced by other talents.

I love her, but 21 is to much. For "The Post"? Really? What abot Jessica Chastai for Molly´s Game instead? Or Florence Foster Jenkins. Great Performace but that leaves Amy Adams (Arrival), Jessica Chastain again for her best performance to date )Miss Sloane), Annette Bening (20th century Women) and many more. Into the Woods was also not so oscar worthy in my opinion! Give her a break. There are so much actresses which derserve also regognition!

Sure all great performances but they way she engulfs the character is like no other. She doesn’t just pretend to be this make believe person she becomes them and truly believes that they are really somewhere in the universe. When she acts it like she isn’t acting at all. Just look at Sophie’s choice and tell me that that performance isn’t the best ever. Not only is she speaking German with a polish accent but she is also acting through that which is beyond hard to do. She is a very impressive person and a gift. Plus some of them were supporting actress like into the woods. I do believe that she deserved it. She was fabulous in her acting and in her singing. It takes talent to produce something like that and you should be thankful. Even though you may not like the movie. You have to look at her performance in it and that’s all. And her performance in all of these movies trumped the other actors in that specific movie. I’ll say it again and again. Meryl Streep is simply fantastic

She was without a single piece of doubt is fantastic in it, she even deserves the Oscar or Natalie Portman in Jackie than the mediocre unworthy performance of the ingenue Emma Stone in La La Land.
