I personally don’t get ASMR they just help me go to sleep, but maybe the reason why you feel that way is because back then they used microphones that were more Lo-fi because I know that a lot of people get ASMR when the asmrtist doesn’t use a high quality microphone.

When I was younger, I used to go to a disabled centre because I had ADHD. It was for people between 3 and 18. They had a sensory room where you'd just lie and watch large lava lamps and fibre optic lights. It made people calm down or just for relaxation. This video reminds me of the sensory room. Not everyone appreciates good art some are just content with mediocre entertainment. ASMR has kind of lost its way I have not foumd any good new people in awhile. There was a time when there was an explosion of ASMR talent but now all my ASMR subs are "old school" veterans who have been around since 2012 or so. Most of them have quit and the new ones are doing gross perverted or gluttonous content

Ain’t no doubt that Maria is the QUEEN of ASMR. I see comments on other asmrists videos calling them the queen of ASMR... like no no no, you’re wrong. It’s Maria and it always has been. I mean she’s been making videos since like 2011 and she’s STILL making videos! I’ve been watching ASMR since like 2012 and a lot of the asmrists I watched back then aren’t even around anymore, most of them haven’t uploaded a video in years. So to have Maria still posting and interacting with all of us, is awesome in my opinion! She’s my absolute favorite and always will be.

I've been ok listening to Maria for a couple of years now. I have trouble with night-time anxiety, due to a break-in at my old apartment, that happened while I was sleeping. My great grandmother had a soft, soothing way of talking and Maria's voice is very soothing like her's was. I listen to her videos, especially the new ones, when it's time for bed and she relieves my anxiety and triggers comforting, relaxing sensations. She's a lifesaver as far as my anxiety goes. Her voice is especially my favorite, but I love her creativity and all of the care and hard work she puts into every aspect of her videos!! I think becoming a mother has only increased her quality and added a new dimension of soothing to the videos ❤❤❤
