Let us get one thing straight first, I was born in Lucknow, at one point Behzad was the tenant of our house. I am + 76 & I do not need anyone's approval for my love of Urdu. The only difference between me & Muzaffar is that He is a BIGOT. I love any one who speaks, write, sings Urdu, I do not look at what the mother tongue of a poet or writer is, they are my brother & sisters if they love Urdu. I respect Majaz, Akhter Shirani, Saher, Kaifi & all the others whom I cannot name here but the fact is NO ONE, NO ONE reaches the level of Faiz, perhaps not even Ghalib. Poets in Pakistan did not have to please anyone, what they wrote was not for films, they wrote it because they loved URDU & they chose this language for their expression. Those who do not like my words should read "In Custody by Anita Desai" and watch the film made by a GREAT Director & Producer Ismail Merchant's Film on this novel. The theme poems in that film were the poems of Faiz & Behzad. I don't care about the political system of Pakistan, and of course the Urdu Speakers of India know how URDU is treated there. And FINALLY, Josh Malih-Abadi migrated to Pakistan despite the fact that he was asked by Nehru to stay. Josh knew the future of Urdu in India, He knew the mentality of Patel, yes the same Patel who has one of the tallest statue in, where else? Gujrat.

As far as I know, Urdu came into existence because ppl from different backgrounds couldn't understand each other in the Mughal Army. So the Mughal Army had its own language while Mughal elites spoke Farsi. Pakistani Army has its own country and I am sure its elites would prefer English over Urdu😂😂😂😂

I find it odd that Faiz, Faraz, Nasir, and Qateel were totally ignored, was it because they are from the other side? Muzaffar Ali's narration is ..... whatever it is.

They are not parallel with majaz shakil akhter ul eeman kaifi azmi and Ali sardar jafery they were famous by the singing of famous singers not due to the depth in poetry and imagination as the poets had to whom I named!!

@@Salman-tq4in so what if he was nominated for noble Urdu never grabbed a noble prize for literature but you can't say that this language is inferior to any world class language however I respect your opinion on Faiz and fraz but me have mine also this is pleasent to note that you have interest in Urdu poetry and literature, Urdu is not less than Arabic Persian and English languages thanks to khosro kabeer tolsi qoli qutob mir souda ghalib daagh jiger majaz Josh Hali and hasrat now parveen iftekhar Arif Ather nafees peerzada qasim Jamil ud din aali bekal otsahi rahat indori haq kanpuri khumar barbankvi firaq gorakhpuri lata haya shiyama and many others who made the language at par by any yardstick!!
