I like how the whole training hall stays quiet for his PR and applauded afterwards

This makes Lu Xiaojun's ~300kg squat PR even more insane to think about.

Yeah but this kids ratio from clean and jerk to squat is insane. Lu’s max clean and jerk is 210 in a China competition. This kid’s is 221 and is 19 he has more potential for the future.

My coach Ilir Tafaram from Albania squatted 320kg with the same C&J, so very nice ratio for sure.

Do you know if he always squats first in training? Or does he do it near competition because he's peaked? In all the training hall videos he seems to squat first so just curious.

Some sort of pain or imbalance he was dealing with possibly? Maybe one of his legs is shorter?

should you stretching before working out? or do stretching and warming up before lifting weights?
@xXGaYxnAmEXx
@xXGaYxnAmEXx 6 жыл бұрын
static, unloaded stretching can be useful before training to temporarily increase mobility, but its not super necessary. Warming up is a good thing to do though: you'd be very hard pressed to pr a lift without a warm up.
@euanmorse
@euanmorse 5 жыл бұрын
You're better using dynamic stretching beforehand. Using the barbell to stretch is very beneficial, this is why you see so many weightlifters utilising it at the start of sessions.

His left heel comes off the ground at the bottom of the squat. Isn’t this a concern for an injury in the long term ?

Joseph Fisher I don’t think so; if you watch any of his other back squat videos, he consistently does that

This. If it’s a habit, then yeah probably something that should be addressed. But on max and near max attempts, sometimes your weight can shift forward a little. I used to come forward on my toes pretty bad. Not a huge deal. Besides, he’s so talented he’s got coaches eyes on him that are way smarter than most of us in the comments.
