That's a great point! The Indus Valley Civilization, also known as Harappan, is indeed another strong contender for the title of "oldest civilization." It flourished around the same time period as Mesopotamia and Egypt, with evidence dating back to 3300 BCE. Perhaps a Future Video For Me To Delve Into.

That's a common misconception. While Egypt is definitely one of the earliest civilizations, Mesopotamia (located in modern-day Iraq, Kuwait, and Syria) is considered to be slightly older. Both regions flourished around the same time period, with Mesopotamia having evidence of complex societies dating back a little further.

Interesting! There may have been an equally ancient civilisation in the Americas but, sadly, we'll never know as the Spanish and, later, the Europeans, destroyed almost everything they may have left behind. We have a few hints through the folk tales of the Native Americans, the Aztec, Maya and Inca, but not enough to establish a concrete history.

@lesjones6745 that's a great point! It's true that a lot of history from the Americas was destroyed, making it incredibly difficult to get a full picture. The glimpses we do have from civilizations like the Aztecs, Maya, and Inca are fascinating, but leave us wanting more.

The greatest ancient civilization was the Harappan civilization. The created the Sumerian civilization (Book of Genesis). Some of the Indus people sailed to the Red Sea and reached the shores of the Eastern Desert. The rocks in this desert are full of drawings of people dragging large ships across the desert. They were known as the boat people. The reached the river Nile. Did they create the Egyptian civilization? According to the eminent Egyptologist Sir Petrie Flinders, the Sumerians or the Indus people created the civilization of Egypt. Some of them even reached Crete and created the Minoan civilization. What is amazing is that the first civilizations were created by dark complexioned people. Some of the Indus people reached even the Easter Island in the central Pacific ocean. It is unbelievable.

There is evidence from one tribe of Maori , with a high percentage of Assyrian DNA , who in their folklore states that they are refugees from a great war. It is assumed that the great war was the Mahabharata. There is no known explanation for the high % of Assyrian DNA , and blond hair and coloured eyes.

That's such an interesting connection between the Maori tribe and Assyrian DNA! It's fascinating how folklore can provide clues to ancient migrations and histories.

I find it a bit humorous how so many people commenting are apparently certain that this or that civilization came first...objectivity has been abandoned by far too many. I don't understand the reluctance by so many to simply admit they don't know.

Yes, Neither. Civilisation from West Africa was by far older thatn both. The Atlantean civilisation, based in the Eye of the Sahara was the capital and the canary Islands were partt of their empire. When it was destroyed by catastophic flood, evidenced by satellite photographs, it was literally washed into the sea and the resulting tsunami wiped the canaries clean too. Deep sea readings and archaeology will reveal the eveidence off the coast of Mauritania. But that is expensive and the Orthodoxy Archaeologists don't want to lose theri tenures or funding for being so catastrophically wrong. Gobekli Tepe has proven this and there is yet more to be discovered at that site. The Earth is moving into the Path of the Taurid asteroid belt and that will cause untold damage to earth and civilizations. They have tried to warn us many times in Archaeological finds, but we are not listening. Eleon Musjk should be given the opportunity to save mankind from the impacts. How that could be acheived is still open to speculation, but using the Nuclear arsenals of the world might be an idea.

Thanks for your comment! Chronology is definitely important when discussing ancient civilizations. This video explores Mesopotamia and Egypt as well-documented early societies. Perhaps you have a suggestion for a future video on another early civilization?
@meofamily4
@meofamily4 23 күн бұрын
@@HarrysHistoryAndMyths You claim chronology is important, but you fail to use it. What are the dates of those pyramids you show? Those temples of Egypt? Ur and Sumer date to 3000 and 3500 BC. The pyramids to 2500 BC. Yet, you cannot decide which came first! Your effort is, as Wolfgang Pauli used to say, not even wrong.
