I recon it’s probably right at or over 100% of recommended DV of sodium judging by the labels. The bread is probably around 20% for 3 slices. the beef is 60%, and I didn’t look up the canned milk stuff but I’m guessing upwards of 8%. Most hot sauce is around 6ish for a tsp. Chipped beef gravy over toast is one of my favs. I usually use an entire small jar since it molds so quickly after opening. I usually make enough for at least 4 servings though. Another dandy looking meal cooked at the camp. Mom always cooked a version of this that as a kid I called "Mud on a Mountain". Basically it was ground beef and gravy over a big scoop of mashed potato. Other times we would have the beef and gravy over toast (S.O.S.) This is still a common meal in our house for me and my son but my wife and daughter will usually have something different. I probably mentioned it before but here in Newfoundland it is much more common to add gravy browning colouring to our gravy. Too me it just looks better. The white or very light gravy tastes the same but to me looks weird. Funny the differences in recipes for different places..........Take care, Mike.

I fix it once a week and will until they roast me.... Growing up in a Military family (I'm 66 the youngest of 5 boys 1 of 2 surviving) money was always tight but mom made the best SOS. And it was the only time we could cuss around her. She'd get the giggles when me at age four would ask for "sit on a single" at age six she bust out laughing. I made it for my kids several times a month and now my grandkids. Our family was never one for formal dinners but family dinner time meant and means the world to us. .
