That was very refreshing. I'm constantly consuming media about how awful people and things are. I'm allowing my happiness to be led by optimization algorithms.

Happy New Year Brian! How do you like the inversion table?

The inversion table is fantastic. My back pain is gone, and hopefully it will help with the neurological issues as well, but that will take time. One positve G for 57 years, so the antidote is one negative G.

@ that’s the most logical and shining endorsement I’ve heard thus far! Looks like this will be the year I finally see what the buzz is about! Thanks again! Blue Skies

My preliminary results on the Therapeutic Inversion Table for working with spinal disk degeneration are as follows: I found this table for on Facebook Marketplace for 50 bucks. It's a good model, and I recommend it. This one is adjustable enough that my both my sons use it too, and are finding noticeable benefits. I was in excrutiating pain all last month due to fairly severe disk degeneration in my upper back, causing a pinched nerve all the way down my right arm. Forget about sewing and writing, I couldn't open my front door with my right hand. It was probably due to too much arching in freefall and carrying heavy rigs and backpacks. Still worth it, but once again I need to do whatever I have to in order to restore myself to functionality. Now, in no small part due to this impressive inversion table, I am finally feeling much more myself again. My specific use recommendations: Don't go much past head-low for a few days. Let your body get used to it. To return to upright, activate the thighs and core to bend your knees and stick your butt out in order to shift the center of gravity toward your feet. The hand rails become mostly unnecessary once you learn the technique, which is a great exercise in itself. Absolute relaxation in the inverted position feels truly amazing. Everything releases. I also suggest to have periods in which you keep your body gently moving, even dancing while hanging. Try alternating between total surrender and resistance to gravity, activating your core muscles. You can get abs and core activation in the lift, and spinal extension in the relaxation. Note: Be sure to balance the ab work with lifting of the torsso while laying with your belly on the ground, lifting into a skydiving arch. The key is to be a balanced body, strong and flexible in opposing directions of force. My preference is to keep a gentle flowing "oscillatory" motion in all my stretches and exercises, expanding the range and scope of my physical abilities. All angles, all ways, with grace. Here's the thing, it's scary for a human being to be upside down. We deal with the same adjustment period in training head-down skydivers. The body tenses up, and we crave normality so powerfully that our fear becomes a limiting factor in achieving our goal. So once again we must go boldly into the darkness of our angst and breathe our way though our acceptance process. Surrender to trust. Eventually, we stop resisting and relax into seeing the visual reversal as completly irrelevant. It's just you, here, positioned a certain distance relative to what is around you; proximity and movement, not "upside down" at all. Know that the fear will subside if you just keep at it, and not be afraid of feeling afraid. The fear will not kill you. It is just the monkey- brain doing its natural thing we call panic, but we are bigger than that. We can acknowledge the panicky urges and simply let them go. Focus the mind only on the rhythm of the breath, the graceful flow, the gentleness of peace. Although at times I hang for 15 minutes or more, I now have noticed that I benefit from shorter hang time, with increased frequency. I alternate gravity up and gravity down, a minute or two at a time, like a freeflyer transitioning between head down and upright flying. Be creative and listen to your body. Move gently and very, very slowly. I believe most sufferers of Degenerative Disk Disorder and similar back problems will find tremendous benefit from regular use of an inversion table. Always first consult a doctor who has reviewed your scans and specializes in a relevant area of medical practice, but if they give you the green light, I say go for it. A note about healing Degenerative Disk Disorder: Don't let the doubters throw shade on the miracle of the human body, claiming that spinal cartridge cannot come back to resiliency. Again we will prove them wrong. Many spine-related issues can healed into painless functionality, and along with wise nutritional therapy, the inversion table has been robustly effective for me.
