Excellent interview. For Congress to be really relevant , it needs to win at least 200 seats on its own in Lok Sabha hereafter for the Alliance to have any chance to form Govt at the Centre. Plus it needs strong and larger number of effective leaders at the top with wide public and grass root connect , both in the states and in the Centre . This election the voters have given the mandate to NDA / Bjp but thankfully INDIA alliance with its 234 numbers is a strong Opposition which was sorely needed for a vibrant and healthy democracy . Even Mr Modi wanted a strong Opposition , as per his interview to the electronic media , and hence we look forward to acche din ahead.

Sashi Tharoor reminds me of a story told me how her mother left Malaysia as she was widowed and had five little girls and no income. She sailed back to India and approached the local MP for support. That MP wrote out a letter referring the widow for a govt. Job and this lady got a job as a telephone operator and the local catholic convent admitted the children into school. All of them grew up to be a success in Life. That is India for you. Stop thinking we are a country run by thugs. Let us appreciate the effort put in. Good luck to the new formed govt.

Congratulations to Dr Shashi Tharoor for a well fought win. Indian politicians especially BJP ones have to learn from Shashi Tharoor’s modest answers never criticising Rajeev Chandrasekhar or even the winning BJP candidate Suresh Gopi from Trissur. In fact he praised Suresh Gopi for being secular and getting some votes from the Christians. He was also all praise for Congress President Kharge against whom he fought last year. From reading between Tharoor’s words he may be interested in fighting a MLA election to be the next CM of Kerala. He will be able to stop all infighting in Kerala Congress Party due to which they conceded a second term to the LDF in 2021.
