I love this surf music, I lived in venice ca in the 60's watched the filming of the beach party movies, and loved Betty Page, I was 12. Svetlana has a fantastic look , the guitarists are great! Glad I found this!

I too think Oleg is now the king of the whammy bar. Its so interesting they evolved from an avant guard band that started in someones garage. So they have that avant guard sensibility and intellectualism but they swing like mad with a great sense of humor. Of course men's eyeballs fall out of their sockets looking at Svetlana... but I love her because she's so sweet... sometimes she's the awkward really nice gurl next door. The drummer is no slouch either... doesn't get his due sometimes.

It doesn't get any better than this. I think rock and roll needs to get back to the basics: more fun and less sucky messages! Leave it to a Russian group to show us the way. There are a few bands doing this kind of material, Messer Chups is the best. Oleg is very good, about the same skill level as Brian Setzer IMO. Great stuff, hope they "go far"!
