The idea is not to erase EVERY goal he has scored, the idea is to erase the goals he has scored that were decisive. And the conclusion, at the end of the video is scary but expected at the same time. We are not just over-reliant on Messi in our heads, but also in REALITY, on paper. This idea might be unrealistic because we can't specualte what would happen if a certain goal wouldn't occur, we could score more, or even concede more. SO, I decided to not take any games where his assists or his impact was seemingly essential for the win, as a balance. And i dont know about you but, I feel like there were many more games in La Liga where he has saved us, but ON paper we would've still won without his goals (remember: i did not consider assists or impactful performances as a game-saver; goals only, simple and on point).

Also, decided to not take any games where his assists or his impact was seemingly essential for the win, as a balance of the fact that: for example: messi scores once, suarez too. oponnent scores twice. BOTH goals are essential for the draw (of course), in this case both saved us equally, but that doesnt mean that messi's goal didnt save us because without it we wouldn't draw anymore (same with the Suarez goal). tho, i understand both sides, so as i said, i left out the the assists & or indirect contributions to really just stick to what is ON PAPER (sometimes i even marked at which point of the video messi had a contribution BUT i didnt count these as secured points, the goals only did that). Alot of mindf*** doing this video, but there is no other way to draw an alternate reality, so i kept it simple: "What would happen if Leo did not score certain, decisive goals?" --> we can now proudly say: without messi we would be trophyless (ON paper, atleast). :D

It’s a shame Barca got knocked out by Liverpool, I genuinely believe they would’ve won the treble if they went to the finals. Hopefully they win the Champions League next year, Messi looks hungry for it.

This is also not considering his key passes, assists and play making ability , which I think are sometimes are even more impressive than his goals. Barca would be in europa league without him. Replace him with a player like rafhina and barca would be behind atletico and real for sure
