this is one of those videos that made me feel so dumb for never having noticed this , despite being a football fan watching football for so many years.

I think it's so dope when even long time fans of any sport get introduced to aspects of the game that they never noticed before. This happens to me while watching basketball and America football

@@CoreyMcKinneyFC Btw, do you ever watch with any of the alternate camera angles, or do you watch with the normal broadcast angle. Depending on which streaming platform, apps you use to watch, some offer other camera angles. Since , you like the tactical side of the game, you might be interested to watch with the overhead angle, which shows the entire field, rather than only showing the part of the field where the ball is. That really allows you to see the formations and how the 22 players around the pitch are all moving instead of the normal camera view which just shows the section of the field around the ball.

The thing is, it's a human reaction to stress. We focus. Keep both our eyes open and face our body towards the threat. Sure, it can be taught and drilled to some extent but it's just something that has to come natural too you. 99% of us can't be taught what he does instinctively. Messi is everything but normal. But like they say, it's nice that he still thinks he is.

The fact that he is number 1 in so many things : Goalscoring efficiency Assist efficiency Key passes Playmaking Scanning Dribbling Crossing Free-kick accuracy Is efficient : In the wings both left and right As a false 9 or power foward As a 10 and regista As a center midfielder As a left midfielder or right one He is by far THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME

Many people say that there will never be a player like Messi. I think that is a bit outrageous to say given that football is still evolving . But we can appreciate what we see from this man. He is not your local magician but he pulls rabbits out of a hat in a football field. It remains to be seen who will replace him . Just great amazing player, he is.

It’s very hard to master because when you are young and you are training, your eyes want to see the ball for you to keep control of it. You have to forced yourself to move your eyes up because you need to keep as possible your head up and scan. But it’s about balance between moments when you look at the ball and the pitch. If you scan too much, you will loose the ball or have accidental bad touches. SO it’s really about when to scan where you are younger. Then you scan add more scans with time.

Corey... he de decirte que poco a poco me has enganchado a tus videos. Gracias.

Hey this is just a suggestion, but maybe look into a video called "Lionel Messi how to dribble like me". Its a super short video, that displays how a simple dribble messi does, is still so precise and tactical. Love the vids bro

I always taught my players that once the ball has left the foot of the passer, its path is predetermined and predictable. On a longer pass, (20+ yds) there's no need to watch it roll the whole way to your foot. You have a couple ticks to look away, check over your shoulder to see if you can turn safely, or need to avoid a challenge. You can see if teammates are making runs, and if you may be able to one-touch a pass to them. This a really essential skill for players who play central positions where it's crowded.

Which idiot told you there is nothing impressive seeing him as a kid? He literally bossed people who were older than him during his age group matches.

Every time I make a video about Messi, it never fails that someone comes in a critiques one thing I said about him as "something every player has to learn/do". That's where that comment came from
@LauraGS5648 ай бұрын
that is just hating man. He looked so impressive dribbling four or five people when he was 8. There is a reason Barca signed him when he was just 13@@CoreyMcKinneyFC

I love to notice players scan. I noticed this around 2015.
@sathwickvs93018 ай бұрын
You should also look at martin Odegaard during arsenal games, his scans are very quick. In the last season he had 84% passing success rate while Kevin de Bruyne with top assists had 81%

Playmakers scan more than strikers;) They should have compared him to players like Odegaard, De Bruyne, Xavi, etc. Odegaard might even scan more than Messi.
@RedDevilSkillz8 ай бұрын
Messi isn't really a striker. I'd be surprised if anyone scans more than him
@zunaya-8 ай бұрын
@@RedDevilSkillz He isn't, that's what I'm saying; Allegedly, Xavi had 8 scans for every 10 seconds. Odegaard had 5 during an away PL game against Fulham, but had a "critical scan percentage" (this is when receiving the ball) during the game of 58%. During the WC, Messi had a "critical scan" 30% of the time.
