Messi is the greatest. Messi doesn't just score goals or create assists. He does so much more that stats need to be added to show how good he actually was in comparison. Passes, dribbles, big chances created, free kicks, penalties, average match rating. No doubt Haaland and Mbappe will have amazing stats but they cannot run a game like Leo can. Haaland and Mbappe go missing in big games. Leo and CR7 still shine whoever they play against in whatever tournament. What amazes me is that Leo's current stats for G/A per game are 1.13 and he's played most of his career on the right wing, not as a 9. He might not get the most goals ever but he is by far the most impactful player on a football pitch there has ever been. I checked Leo's stats by 26 years old. His G/A has gone from 0.91 at 24 years old to 1.05 by 26. Mbappe currently has gone from 1.07 at 24 to 1.08. Obviously we still have a few months until Mbappe turns 26 so we shall see how he gets on. CR7's at 26 has gone up to 0.63 His current is 0.93, honestly i think he's trying to push to get it at 1.00 before he retires.

@@phakmodhundup8967 ronaldo never really been a midfielder. hes always play role of a winger. surely when 4-4-2 was the standard hes start as right midfielder and then switch into left midfielder. however hes almost always up there doing modern offensive winger job. fyi just in case you dont know, even back then l/r midfielder also called l/r winger. cristiano said it himself that he never considered himself as midfileder, he said hes a winger. for comparison messi had similar positional career as ronaldo on his early career. he start as left winger at academy but when hes debuted on 1st team he switch to right wing because ronaldinho play on the left. when both at 24 during 2009 cristiano play as left winger that goes into the box often like a striker (rooney drop down playing no 10) whle messi play false 9 which is basically no 9 on paper but doing no 10 job most of the time (the winger, this time its henry and etoo are the actual striker by cut inside going into the box similar to how cristiano goes inside the box)

Remember: Haaland has from the start of his career always been a Centre Forward/Striker where he was the main goal threat with the system built around him to score goals. Messi started the first 5 years of his career as a winger where he was a playmaker who’s job was to assist and create chances for players like Eto, Ronaldinho and Henry to score goals. Haaland was the main goal threat from the get go and Messi was a playmaker, big difference. But Haaland definitely deserves his flowers it’s not easy to score goals like he does.

Back then Wingers in a 442 formation (LM/RM as in the case of Ronaldo) played much deeper than wingers in a 433 formation (RW/LW as in the case of Messi) although players in both positions were called wingers one was a forward while the other was a midfielder. That's why his assist ratio in ucl was much higher in his first stint in Man u than any other time because he played a deeper role in his first three years which focuses on him assisting.

Como jugador es Messi con muchísima diferencia del resto, por estadísticas es difícil hacer una comparación porque juegan en posiciones distintas, Messi era un segundo delantero, Cristiano un extremo izquierdo a esa edad,Haaland un delantero centro y Mbappe un extremo que también jugó muchos partidos como delantero centro, eso explica porque Mbappe y Haaland son los que tienen mejores estadísticas, además de por lo buenos que son, por el hecho de que han jugado MUCHO como delanteros, si bien Kylian también jugó bastante como extremo, Messi al ser un segundo delantero y alejarse un poco más del área varias veces no estaba tan cerca de donde se finalizaba la jugada,aunque muchas otras veces si era el q finalizaba, eso también explica porque Cristiano es el que tenía peores números, por el hecho de que era un extremo puro que nunca había jugado en otra posición,y los extremos por lo general tienen peores números que los delanteros y los segundos delanteros,luego al transformarse en un delantero en sus últimos años en Madrid empezó a meter muchos más goles y Messi al transformarse en un enganche en sus últimos años en Barcelona también dejó de tener tan buenos números,ya veremos como se transforman Haaland y Mbappe o si siguen jugando de delanteros
