Love the new series. I think in order to get a full showdown you need players of the same position. While that may be hard to do because getting them into the team together is difficult, I think it would be better. In this case Messi got a ton more assists in the end, and that's due to wingers having better passing which leads to more goals. The argue can be made about Ronaldo being a striker and he should have more goals because of it, but since you played the 424 Messi was practically a striker, so he was getting the same shooting opportunities with better passing ability. I think this is why the second and third season looked so much different than the first. The first season Ronaldo took the lead because he was the main striker up front and Messi was supporting. Strikers typically get more goal contributions that wingers. Just a recommendation though. Love the new series

I think you should put them in separate teams, even without the development plans and then at the final season make them go to some two rival clubs (like Barca/Real, Bayern/BVB) also if you switch to 5 seasons, try starting players at lower overalls, to avoid the situation when nobody offers for them
