***** It is bashed very often. so say it is OVER rated is...lol. however, it is not "bad" enough where one could say that if anything , it is over-rated just for people playing the game. Seems like it can be made to take skill, and made to play well. None of the games have "good" physics because.. well. it was not made to be realistic. The characters bounce off of walls like ping pong balls ( I know it was intentional). they are either abnormally heavy or abnormally light,(I am comparing brawl to say, melee right here.) I cannot say much about the Balance, and the game being slower of faster has nothing to do with it's quality. If you prefer it faster paced then, I suppose to each their own, right?. I must say I like it over melee, do to the fact it has more characters, new more features, and I WAY less glitch.. (after playing smash 4 a bit, and going back, I realized that though it is less glitch, it is BY NO MEANS glitch-free. ) Dear god.. How did I miss this before?..

Yeah excellent points and I generally agree, but personally I do feel the biggest setbacks were the changes to knockback and hitstun which combined with the lower dash speeds and removal of key movement options led to more defensive oriented gameplay through shielding/rolling but that's just my analysis. However I am somewhat ambivalent on the subject of L-cancelling; I respect the increased skill ceiling and brawl does suffer from having laggy aerials, but on the other hand I feel it adds an unnecessary layer of complexity in the form of an obnoxious extra timing check in a game where timing should already be paramount at every level. But yeah I do think brawl could have been good with or without any of the aforementioned mechanics as long as they had shifted more competitive depth to other areas of the game, but unfortunately they really didn't.

+Shockwave3456 I played sm4sh before brawl and i just recently bought it and played it for the first time (primarily for project m) but before I downloaded pm I played brawl alot and to my surprise I liked brawl alot more then sm4sh. it was noticeably different and it did feel slightly more stiff but the things that brawl has that sm4sh lacks r things like ledge hogging and stuff of that sort. also u couldn't just spam air dodge to get out of any combo and since brawl was floaty it actually made a good combo to make some combos. also marth wasn't complete shit. but thats just my opinion

It's a tech that decreases the amount of frames when you jump on a moving platform, such as the one in Smashville. It's used to psych out opponents or provide really good set-ups. Ramin is probably the best in the world at doing it.

Combos are inescapable chains, in SSB and SC, Combos are effected by AI or AC, and thus are only combos so long as your opponent can't control themselves outside of their momentum. These 'combo's' are people airdodging, and blanking out into attacks. Some of them are reads, sure, but ultimately, there's are few things in this video that would constitute an actual combo.

Your right, those vids were just to illustrate how Ike's upb can be used to spike someone. If you were to use it onstage however, it would only lead to damage if you landed back onstage. If you moved ike midway in the upb towards the ledge, he'll grab the ledge from behind, thus cancelling the impact hitbox that would normally occur onstage. This was kinda long, but hope you follow

@fauxx82 1. When you shield right before you get hit, you get that "klink" sound. It's called a power shield. And thats what he did right there with Falcos lazers. 2. Its actually a grab followed by forward throw. He then re-grabs and repeats with an other forward throw.

Make sure you're doing it while rising. Like, double jump and while Marth is going up do the spike, or else you'll fast fall to your death. This also prevents landing lag when you hit the stage.

@GCLU I'm aware of both the mechanics and the terminology, I was merely commenting on the fact that I prefer the game to be who manages to land a blow first and complete his combo than who can have the best med-fall predictions of the other's actions. Also, 0->Death combos in SSB were infinitely more entertaining to pull off when compared to anything in competitive SSBM/SSBB. Besides that, who ever complains about "ULTRA" from KI.

Ike's up b can be useful in certain situations. In this case, the ike was most likely looking to either hit Mr. R in the last hitbox, or was aiming to grab the ledge and possibly meteor Mr. R on his way down.
