Messmer is perhaps the only fair and well balanced fight out of all of the DLC. His quicker attacks are weak in damage, but it's the larger attacks with longer wind-up that deal the most damage. It's what most attacks in the game should be like. It does make him easier than some other bosses, but he's still a challenge. Winning requires learning attack patterns and weaknesses, rather than going for a simple victory through mindless brute force alone.

I keep seeing people talk about how ‘unbalanced’ the dlc bosses are, but literally the only one that seemed that bad balance wise was Gaias and the final boss. Every other boss was perfectly manageable.

Yes, midra really wasnt that hard, im on ng7 scaleing and when im used to getting 2 shot he really didnt hurt or have hard to doge attacks​@@reaperofthings

A big part of it was having 13 scadutree levels. Most people get to Mesmmer much earlier into the DLC, so a lot of the combos that would oneshot people didn't for Ina. Still impressive but just goes to show how important those scadutree fragments are.

​@@flaze8240 Right, surprised not a lot are mentioning this, the problem people have with the Messmer is that they usually are getting 1-2 shotted before they can learn his move set, I knew Ina wasn't gonna have issues with him because her level was really high from collecting a bunch of those scadutree fragments ( It was funny because she would unintentionally walk around that area and fight other bosses but Messmer ) so her survivability gave her the chance to learn his moves. Not to undermine her achievement because it's still impressive and was only exploring are her own pace, but context is important as to HOW she was able to do it lol
