Met a boy at Chulalongkorn University

Our amazing friend Mimi, who you probably know as our wonderful translator on the podcast, is a Chulalongkorn University grad and when we told her we were coming to Bangkok the very first activity that she wanted to take us to do was to tour the campus! So, you know, we obviously said yes. It was like stepping directly into a series...and we even caught up with our friend Mick while we were there. He's a real life engineer, y'all. He wore his shirt and everything. Try to be cool about it. We weren't.

Haha, welcome to my university and cool to see fans of Thai entertainment being genuinely interested in Thai culture and lifestyles - there's a saying in my friend group that all the cute girls and boys go to Chula 🤣. Don't worry about being non-students entering the uni, it's pretty common and you guys could for sure pass as some international students though you wouldn't need to. Chulalongkorn uni is historic in itself so it might as well be a tourist attraction. I think Thai people do the same for K-dramas when they go to Korea or Anime from Japan so it's nice to be on the receiving end sometimes. Hope you enjoyed your visit to Thailand and wish to see you back again as a lover of the country as a whole next time.

It was awesome that you ran into Mick. He looked very handsome in his school uniform. When you walked through Engineering, I was hoping Mew would pop up since he is getting his PhD from that university. Granted, I went to a public university, but you only went to class at your department. Each major does not have a huge cafeteria. Random dumb thought, I didn't like the forks in Thailand because the tines were all bent, and they seemed flimsy. I'm bringing my own flatware with me this time. You guys managed it much better than I did. These on location videos are great. P.S. I know this is a BL podcast, but if possible, could Mimi share a little bit about King Chulalongkorn in a future episode? His father was the king Anna Leonowens wrote about, so many westerners only know the British (Anna L) or musical (The King and I) version of Chulalongkorn. Please ask what his name means too. Thanks and no pressure, just a suggestion.

I wanted to visit Chulalongkorn University when I visited Bangkok and managed to enter campus grounds through the Siam side. But I quickly encountered a series of dead ends and high walls and wasn't able to go very far in. I thought I could grab a snack and a cold drink at one of the faculty canteens but wasn't able to do so, as they only accepted payment from a pre-paid card. May try to visit again next time, but maybe using another entry point.
